Floyd all the way. You couldn't touch Floyd if Floyd was focus, he's the master at ducking and dodging.

Toney will still get hit in the arms and gloves.

Perhaps. But Toney was a master as well. Even against somebody like Jones had a hard time touching Toney fully.

They use the shoulder roll completely differently, Floyd is a pure defensive fighter, Toney is an offensive counter puncher who fights off the shoulder roll.

Toney is next to impossible to hit clean, but mainly uses his defence to set up a straight right, or uppercut!

            Mayweather is defensively better IMO.

mayweather is a better defensive fighter. he's more difficult to hit. toney had a great chin, and when he got hit he'd make up for it.

toney was a better offensive fighter, though, and i consider him a more effective counterpuncher because he's more willing to let his hands go, and he has more power. toney's short right hand counterpunch might be my favorite shot to look at.

toney had off nights where he wouldn't show up in the shape needed to be a complete wizard. floyd is always in peak condition.

floyd will also make guys miss completely much more often, while tony often catches punches closer to his body, especially left hooks, and is unable to counter.

toney also wasn't as fast as mayweather. toney liked to roll the right hand and come back when a guy is in range. mayweather's favorite counter is to put his jab out there lazy and come over the top with a right hand when you try and paw at his jab, which you can't do unless you're very fast.

Have you heard James Toney speak lately? I think I'll vote Mayweather on this one

Toney didn't clinch and didn't move much on his feet, he was right in front of his opponent rolling and slipping shots. Mayweather does a combination of rolling/slipping, moving and clinching. Overall Mayweather is harder to hit but if he was forced to be flat footed and couldn't clinch he wouldn't look as good as Toney.
