Hopkins you didn't have the balls to go to Cleverly's hometown because you were afraid you would get robbed, because you don't have the punching power to finish him. Kovalev was facing the same risk and he still went because he was confident, yet he finished the job.

This idea that Kovalev is scared of Hopkins is laughable. Now Hopkins is left fighting Clev's leftovers, Karo Murat.

The reason Hopkins didn't care about Kovalev was the fact he didn't have a name. Now a name is being made out of Kovalev, so he's talking ***** now for the dollars and to promote a future bout. Kovalev doesn't have a TV deal with anyone right now and he should keep it that way, even if it means going back to NBCSN Fight Night.

I have to give Main Event Promotions proper respect, they've taken the NBCSN Fight Night's to promote their fighters and are getting them big fights now. Look at Sergey Kovalev & Curtis Stevens, cashing in on big opportunities and getting on HBO. I think Main Event Promotions will leave the door open to all companies to put their fighters on.

I feel Kovalev will take a 2 to 3 fight deal with HBO, clean up a couple of opponents as they can go after Adonis Stevenson, Jean Pascal, Lucian Bute, a rematch with Nathan Cleverly, Carl Froch possibly, Tavoris Cloud, Chad Dawson and any possible mandatory challenger. Kovalev can take a couple fights and let Benard make a couple more defenses then setup a big-time fight to unify the Light Heavyweight titles.
