Kovalev is not KO BHop. Might win an ugly decision due to bhops low activity, plus guys bring Pascal hurting BHop. Yes Pascal is a quicker one punch puncher than Kovalev, and also much more athletic. Does not make Pascal a better fighter than Kovalev, but that single attribute he's better than Kovalev. Also BHop is aware of kovalevs power, BHop would just smother his power, and BHop still has excellent foot work, and upper body movement, plus have yet to see if kovalev can fight on the inside. He has not had to as of yet
well Hopkins mentioned in this article that we are now commentating on that Jackson says: Don't fight hopkins, he will ruin your career.
Thats why I put a link to what jackson has said in an interview a couple a days ago in black and white... It was to show that b-hop is blowing smoke oyt of his ass not that everything jackson says are right ore is going to happen.

Murat was Hopkins mandatory. He then had VISA issues and Kovalev was made the mandatory. Hopkins said he would have no problem fighting him. This would have gone to a purse bid and likely a bit of a process. Meanwhile Cleverly had a date, venue, and contract ready and sent to Kovalev. Duva, had two options - accept the Cleverly offer which was already done (just sign the dotted line) or go through the process of a purse bid etc with Golden Boy. Either way was a good decision but Duva took the easiest most convenient option. This all happened very fast mind you, just a few days.

Meanwhile Murat cleared his visa problems and after Kovalev accepted Clev, the IBF reinstated Murat as Hopkins mandatory.

As for Hopkins vs Cleverly, bhop was never scared of him to think otherwise is ******ed. Hopkins couldn't go wrong with either Cloud or Cleverly for a title shot.
Didn't say he was scared, he's just spouting off his usual nonsense. He used the same excuse about not wanting to travel when he ducked Calzaghe. He was offered the Cleverly fight in New York, turning it down had nothing to do with travelling anywhere

I don't know what made Duva say that because Hopkins has never vacated a title (to my knowledge). Sure, GB wasn't keen on making the fight but utlimately a man of Hopkins stature doesn't let his promoter dictate anything to him.

No YOUR post is just bull****. What do you mean he wasn't keen to honor his mandatory obligation? He said he was willing to fight Kovalev two days before Kovalev/Cleverly was signed : https://twitter.com/THEREALBHOP/stat...66108996718593

            Check the link above.

            A reasonable hater. Props.
            sorry for my bad english.

I mean he (hopkins) ore his team wasn't interested in fighting Kovalev.
Yes he says he was willing to fight kovalev just before the cleverly fight was signed. Why did it take so long for hopkins to come out with that statement? because before that he or his team mentioned that nobody knew who kovalev was and the showtime/hbo won't accept kovalev as his opponent but who knows who murat is. Kovalev has had several fight on nbc with decent ratings.

People started saying hopkins is ducking kovalev and then he came out with that statement well knowing that the fight was not going to happen then.
            This is classic b-hop.

I respect B-hp very much for what he has a accomplished, and with his age. it's crazy and I don't blame him for taking the murat fight at his age.
But I don't like his dirty style in and out of the ring,
He's a a very inteligent man that is good at fooling people with mindtricks.

If I remember correctly Showtime rejected a Kovalev fight, or GBP did. At the time the fight could have been made, Hopkins side (management/promoter/carrier) started shuffling cards.

They had no interest in going the Kovalev route. We all know it. Kovalev was simply too dangerous. In fact he would have been the most most dangerous Hopkins opponent in many many years.

The fact that they stated Murat as a more deserving opponent was just laughable. Even Hopkins knew it was laughable, but stated publicly when the Kov vs Clev deal was almost finished, that he would love to fight Kovalev to safe face. He is simply doing more of that now.

Kovalev and his team were not going to sit around and wait, they knew games were being played. They just wanted Kovalev to begin his collection of belts, and they firmly believe so much in him, the opponent would not have mattered. They believe so much in Kovalev that they consider Hopkins just another Opponent/Victim.

Doesn't matter how long it took, he said it when Kovalev was still available, then they signed the Cleverly fight. I don't care what Golden Boy or Showtime said, Hopkins was willing to defend his title. I don't think he has ever vacated a title in his life, he's old school like that.

Of course Hopkins is going to say it especially when he knows its not going to happen.
