Hey as much as I like my fellow Comrade Leo Santa Cruz I just don't see him winning against a guy like Rigondeaux, no way, and this is coming out of the mouth of a Mexican.

I'm gonna go out on a plank and say,

Donaire doesn't specialize in coming forward as much as Santa Cruz... not saying he would beat Rigondeaux, in fact I think safe money is Rigo, but you never know.

I see Rigondeaux stopping Leo Santa Cruz in his tracks every time he tried putting on the pressure and getting hit far more easily than Doaire.

Santa Cruz isn't quite ready for that. In a year, maybe things will be different.

The way he fights though, I think he'd give Rigo a good fight at least if and when he is ready. He's no ****** brawler, much as people like to think any fighter who throws a lot is. Those shots not only come often, they come smart, accurately, and hard. His defense is far from bad either.

How is Rigo not on the Florida card?

Leo is taylor made for Rigondeaux. In fact any go forward fighter with no defense is taylor made for the Cuban. He has power in both hands, perfect boxing technique and most important of all great accuracy. As a counter puncher I would favor him over Leo and as I've said, against any go forward fighter.

Santa Cruz is cool shit and all, but Rigo would whack him hard to the body as soon as he'd come in carefree as he does. I tell ya, Rigo's been holding back on those savage one-punch KO body shots for a while now - when he next decides it's time to unleash one at the right time, tremors will be felt on Earth. :box2:

Santa Cruz is not a mindless come forward fighter with no defense.

You're not going to beat Rigo sitting at distance unless you have a height and reach advantage and the skills to utilize it, so all that's left is coming forward. Someone who can slip past his initial shots and make things rough, that's how you beat a great fighter who likes to use distance.

Santa Cruz likely isn't ready to do that, not yet, but he would stand a better chance than any "boxer" you could mention in the weight range.

If Santa Cruz has an iron chin and body he could give Rigondeaux some problems with his workrate.

He's been caught by come forward fighters before :

And Santa Cruz has some defense.
