Does Amir Khan have the lowest IQ in boxing?

This dude seriously has some awesome athletic gifts for his weight class. Handspeed, footspeed height and reach but he just keeps making the same damn mistakes all the time. Before the Danny Garcia fight Freddie Roach stated that Angel Garcia was trying to get in his head to make him more aggressive and take him off his game plan, dumbass Khan fell right into Angel's plans and tried to knock Garcia out and ended up doing the Harlem shake.... Roach warned him but he couldn't control his emotions and went in flying with his hands damn low, you could see how angry he was when the ref was giving the instructions. Now he's got this new trainer who he has regressed under in my opinion and is facing Alexander who isn't a hard hitter but is still dangerous for Khan. Diaz had Khan hanging on for dear life so I'm worried for Khan against Alexander.... 2011 Khan would have been a good fight for Khan against Devon but now I'm afraid he'll do the harlem shake again.

You make some valid points, he could definitely fight smarter. I don't think he's making the best use of his natural talents to be honest.

No way. He may not be smart, but he's not the ******est world class fighter. There are plenty of punching bags like Arreola or Rios or Kirkland who can only knock you out, and don't have any idea what to do if walking forward throwing bombs doesn't work. Khan's smarter than that, he has outboxed good boxers.

Good boxers who have no power like Malignaggi. I'm interested to see how he looks at 147, I think it will help him as he outgrew 140 imo.

It's such a shame that he can't keep himself from throwing five-punch combinations. He was outclassing Garcia until he decided to stand and flurry. After the first few rounds Angel Garcia was clearly panicking in the corner and it seems like Danny said to himself "OK, no ****ing way can I box with him... let's see if he's willing to trade bombs".

It seems like Khan has enormous pride that keeps him from making rational decisions in the ring. I think Jim Lampley put it well by saying "Too much heart".

There is no doubt that thinking in the ring is not his strong point and he is very very very thick in and out of the ring. However being thick can have advantages in sport as thickies are doers and waste energy on worry and thinking about the consequences which can drain thinkers.

it's sad that khan is more focused on externalizing his mistakes to his trainer, conditioning coach etc. instead of focusing on what he knows works for him

he's been denying he has a bad chin for years now, blaming stuff like weight and pointing towards the awesome amount of punishment he was able to take against fighters like maidana

instead he should take a page out of wlad klitschko's book and work on a style that suits his attributes

even though he can't take a punch he's got plenty of natural talent to compensate for it unless he really is that effing ****** which I also believe he is

that's not what I saw...danny was trying to keep poised but knew he had to time that right hand as khan has always shown vulnerability to a looping right hand...he threw that punch repeatedly but wasn't able to hit khan with it until he got the timing down in the 3rd

so I think it was him not expecting to take as much punishment rather than him losing confidence in his ability to box with khan
