There is a dual universe dynamic in this forum. Half the threads are started by alts with an agenda and half the posts in those threads are "playing along"

The other half of the threads are meant to be more serious yet the troll aspect still pervades and takes over the majority of the content of the thread. I'm sure most of the posters that post here respect the fact that people could get hurt by providing the peanut gallery (us) entertaining sporting events.

It's the pseudo-prison mentality of gang association and false idolship. When I think about it, that's what comes to mind...prison. We take sides, join a group and defend the idol of the group by any means necessary. Since we can't use guns or physically harm another poster, we use the next best thing, verbal assault and emasculation.

I don't hold it against any poster really, it's just our way of doing what we have to in order to survive the harsh elements of the interweb.

I have never seen a sport where the best fighters can be called bums and hype jobs by people on internet forums over and over again and it seems OK. It is ridiculous,where is the respect,these fighters give their lives to dedicate their craft to rise to the very top of their sport only to be disrespected by the very people who they put their lives on the line for to entertain.It is amazing,and crazy at the same damn time,makes me ashamed i watch the same sport as these clowns

I don't say you're wrong, but they are not just doing it to entertain. They HOPE they'll entertain because if they DO, they'll get other fights and make money. If they DON'T, then any fights they might get won't pay them much.

They do it for the MONEY....... To them it's easier than studying, or going to gaol for years, or working. besides they may have a macho complex. Very few really have proper plans laid out for life after boxing, although of course some do. Sometimes it doesn't work out and they return to boxing and slide down that tilted path.

Same thing with NFL and NBA. Everyone that is into it will always say they love the sport, but they are fans of a specific team and will trash their rivals as much as possible.
