okay dude,, im gonna break it down,, and im not a floyd hater,, just a realist....
the fights in 1999 and 2000 posed no threat to floyd, but thats cool cuz he was still a young champ learning his craft...
2001-2002 he fought great opponents, no beef there,,,
2003-2005 sosa, ndou, corley, brusceles, gatti, shambra== ndou, and corley were the only 2 semi-legit fights,, they were live underdogs,, the rest is crap
2006- zab and baldomir,, no complaints, floyd fought the top 2 guys at welter and become lineal ww champ, no hating on this
2007- Oscar and hatton-- Great win for floyd in the oscar fight,, no beef there,, another good win vs hatton, but i just wish he would have gone down to 140 and taken hattons lineal championship,, Floyd would have beaten 3 lineal champs in 3 divisions in 3 straight fights,, That would have been some GOAT stuff, everyone knew hatton was crap at welter, and thats why floyd made him come up to him,,, floyd beats him at either weight, i just wished he would have taken the lineal strap..
2008- fake retirement, welter division was deep with margs, cotto, shane,
wish floyd would have fought shane after the oscar fight, and then fought cotto in summer of 2008,
2009- floyd comes back and fights jmm,, huge cherry pick,,, Did you really think that floyd had any chance of losing to jmm,, jmm had ZERO chance of winning,, jmm excels vs come forward aggressive fighters like manny, do you really think a smaller, slower, older, less powerful, slow footed, jmm would outbox the larger, faster, younger, stronger floyd,,, Nobody is going to outbox floyd especially vs an older, slower, less powerful, flat-footed counterpuncher,, Did anyone really think jmm would outbox and counterpunch floyd to a decision win,,,, JMM had ZERO chance in that fight,,,
2010- Shane,, okay fight, shane was the ww champ after beating margs in january of 2009,, now its 17 months later, shane is old, has no legs, margs comes straight forward and is easy to hit, hence why shane ko'd him., floyd aint gonna come straight forward, he is going to use his legs, and mosely had none,, hence why floyd won every round except the 2nd when shane caught him out of the clinch.... like i said before, i wish this fight took place after the oscar fight, ideally it would have happened in 1999-2000 but that would be too good to be true
2011- ortiz- good fight,, floyd coming off a long layoff, ortiz was a young aggressive power puncher,, so i really cant complain,, good tune-up for floyd, but not exactly the manny fight everyone wanted to see....
2012- cotto- cotto was completely shot,,, margs and manny beat his brains in, and throw in all the other cotto wars like torres, corley, zab, shane, clottey and cotto was not elite anymore,, he struggled vs yuri, mayorga and beat a one-eyed shot margs.... Not exactly the same cotto that was around in 2005-2008.. Summer of 2008 would have been a perfect time to have cotto-floyd fight instead of cotto-margs,, but floyd was doing a fake retirement
2013- ghost- ghost was a decent fighter, he earned his shot, floyd took a very good fighter and turned him into a sparring partner,,,,
Canelo- good fight, very interested in it,, but i hate how floyd does a catchweight even though he stated last year that he doesnt do catchweights,, what he should have said is i dont do catchweights vs older past prime fighters like oscar and cotto, but i will if its a young undefeated power puncher, That would have been a more accurate statement,,,
