Combination punching. Superb at cutting off the ring.
TS if you can't see what GGG does then you need a new sport.

Well from what I heard they were pretty even in sparring. Canelo has a 70% KO ratio so he must be doing something right, poise and patience is a good thing in boxing. That ratio is also reflective of his often lack of activity at times and patience. Fighters who throw more punches take more risks. In regards to Mosley, you say Canelo has fast hands, Pacquaio also has fast hands and knocked down Mosley, but Canelo couldn't. Don't compare Canelo to the greats of this era, he's not even in the p4p list.
Miguel Cotto is sadly a gatekeeper at this point, it doesn't make Trout amazing for defeating him. Both Canelo and Trout looked bad in that fight, and you can say Golovkin has faced nobody near the quality all you want (check what Macklin did to Sergio and Sturm), but it doesn't take a scientist to see that Golovkin has some great attributes, but how about we compare Canelo to Golovkin shall we?
Maybe we can also bring up the sparring session they had? I hope you know how that went?Comment

Those excuses are pretty valid. If you understand nutrition then you'll realize they are pretty legitimate. Lack of sleep, nutrition, hydration and most likely mental stress, all very valid, but whatever. Those excuses are pretty bad unless he broke or injured something (hand, knee, back, shoulder) he shouldn't be making excuses, even more so in a winning performance.
I've watched both fights and what I saw was GGG struggle more than he should have against mediocre opponents. Rosado was stopped on cuts and Ouma was out on his feet, but GGG couldn't drop either guy. Angulo stopped Rosado in less than two rounds after dropping him three times, Golovkin couldn't even drop him and if not for the cuts the fight would have gone on longer.
Ouma has a chin made of gold, he made the guy literally quit from the damage he took. All I see is you saying because he didn't knock either down he must be bad or have performed bad, you give no credit to Ouma or Rosado, and you also do not take into account the context of the fight. An example is you are deliberately ignoring how Rosado was running the whole fight vs Golovkin, you think if he took more risks he wouldn't have been knocked down?
It's like saying "hurr durr because Pacquaio couldn't finish Bradley that must mean Pacquaio did bad", meanwhile ignoring how Bradley was in survival mode, practically on his bike and hurt multiple times.
It's like you guys will only accept Golovkins talent when he actually punches you in the face with it or something.Last edited by T18Z; 08-18-2013, 07:48 PM.Comment

I agree he's good at cutting off the ring and is a great puncher. He just doesn't wow me like the guys I mentioned.Comment

Pretty much spot on, some ppl act like he just recklessly charges at his opponent winging careless power shots, he does not.Comment

Rosado came to fight vs Angulo. He was in retreat vs GGG from the beginning. It wasn't just a cuts stoppage after winning every minute. Remember "We gotta stop it, your son is gonna die"?Those excuses are pretty bad unless he broke or injured something (hand, knee, back, shoulder) he shouldn't be making excuses, even more so in a winning performance.
