calzaghe outboxing kovalev? calzaghe was a terrible boxer. he had basically the same style as cleverly. get close and throw a lot of punches and overwhelm his opponents. so light punching calzaghe is going to somehow get and stay into mid range against kovalev and survive? not happening. very early knockout.

At this stage in his career, Hopkins stays away from Kov and that's a fact. That's not ducking, Hopkins has nothing left to prove and he knows he has easier pay days in possible rematches or fights with guys like Clev (which may still happen).

Kov has faster hands than people give him credit for and throws very straight punches, a couple of those big shots and Hopkins will go down. I don't see it any other way.

Prime Hopkins would school Kovalev and ruin him, Old borderline shot hopkins probably still pulls it out

I wouldn't even for a second count out Hopkins against Kovalev. I could absolutely see him clinching away Kovalev's offense.

What ref doesn't let Hopkins hit and hold all night?

                Stevenson is terrible aswell.

Cloud is worse though. Cloud is literally terrible.

                He's worse than Jeff Lacy.

Labelling him simply "one dimensional" is being unfair to how terrible he actually is.

I think Hopkins would likely clinch the **** out of Kovalev for 6 rounds and break his rhythm. I can't see Sergey being able to throw that often and with that power for 12

Don't be silly. Terrible is Peter Manfredo and the likes. Cloud is a tough fighter, excellent chin, good power, good jab when he uses it etc. One dimensional is the perfect way to desrcibe him. Any type of movement and he'll struggle. But terrible? No way. He's fundamentals are good, he throws crisp accurate shots. He's not some sloppy idiot. He just only knows how to fight one way and doesn't know how to deal with movement i.e one dimensional.

Look Hopkins is one of favorites, a prime Hopkins was as fun to watch as any other fighter but I think people have too much faith in him. His workrate against Cloud was horrible despite his dominance, I can't see him winning this at this stage, I really can't. People are still underrating Kovalev......
