If Bernard Hopkins is still defying time and has anything left...

He'll make easy work out of Kovalev.

Yes, Sergey looked very impressive yesterday....against Cleverly (who?). Hopkins must have been licking his chops watching another come forward ****er have everybody in awe of his immense "power". If grandpa Bernard has anything left, he puts up another schooling for the books.

He will trouble Kovalev but he will be the first fight he's fought in a while that can cutt off the ring effective and has concussive power.

But I agree that Hopkins will always do well against that kind of style but Kovalev will push him and is definitely able to beat him IMO.

If I was Kovalev I would stay away from Hopkins though.

That type of style will never beat Hopkins, Roy Jones, his bitter rival, even pointed it out.

I agree that Kovalev should stay away from Bernard. If he somehow does beat him, he'll most likely look terrible in doing so and it'll be "you barely beat a 50 year old in an ugly fight". And if Hopkins schools him, like I imagine he will, than his career pretty much goes into the gutter.

Its kinda of hard to have a nearly 50 year old guy be considered a threat,,,

but hopkins has the style to weather kovolev's early storm, take him deep, and punish him in extremely boring fashion......

its a 50/50 fight at this point,,,,,

bet against hopkins if you want to, but he did this vs tito, tarver, pavlik, pascal, cloud

Agreed but he hasn't fought a fighter like Kovalev in a while.

A legit 175 lber with crushing power who can cutt off the ring effectively. So I do think it's interesting.

Kovalev would end his career in the most brutal fashion possible. Don't get it twisted thinking this guys another Pavlik, Cloud or any other bog standard puncher who is going to be scared to commit in case B-Hop throws a feint.

I'm a B-Hop fan but I am realist and just because he beats a few bums doesn't convince me hes not lost a few steps. I mean come on people really thought Cloud was going to destroy him?
B-Hop is too clever to fight a guy like Kovalev at this stage.

Prime B-Hop has as good of a chance as anybody but current B-Hop gets stopped for the first time.

I love Bernard but he loses to Kovalev at this point, Kovalev has shown he can also box and is not only a come forward kind of boxer + cuts off the ring pretty well.
