You do realize Daniel Geale was the IBF champion and ranked 2 at middleweight by the Ring?

That's a good win for sure.

I don't want to sound like a racialist but I would just like to illuminate that it does seem a bit uncanny that of all pommy boxers that have had their chins checked I can think of off hand, they either were exposed to have glass jaws (Price) or decent chins but nothing of the great variety (Lewis). Not that many though to make a definitive statement.

What can be said though is certain American heavies like McCall, Puritty, Holyfield, Marion Wilson have truly iron chins.

Today the Slavic boxers have the strongest chins in boxing, I believe they have a tougher facial bone structure and jawline than Caucasians of the british stock and are better conditioned. But again ironically the champion Wladimir Klitschko has bucked this trend and seems to have average chin. Below average for a HW his size.

I don't want to sound like a racialist either but Mexicans take a backseat to no one when it comes to strong chins. And they don't suffer from sharp Slavic cheekbones that are more prone to cuts.

At least Cleverley finally stepped up, there's no shame in losing at the highest level, but he should have been fighting better guys during his reign as champ. He was nowhere near prepared for a killer like Kovalev.

The UK always produces good fighters, way more than France, Spain or other comparative sized countries... probably the reason many fail on the world stage is because they spend too long at domestic level and aren't ready for the jump in class.
