Tip my hat off to Cleverly...

He wanted to make a statement and ASKED to fight the most dangerous fighter in the division. Props to him for putting his belt and young career on the line. He was calm and confident going into the fight so I know he trained his hardest and had the best camp he could.

It's obvious he was hyped to death by the old Calzaghe lovers, I think they wanted to see an reincarnation in Cleverly.

I've been following Kovalev for some time now and his boxing skills are very underrated. He's a power puncher at heart but has excellent timing, range, and footwork. His defense isn't bad but could definitely use some work.

Anyway, good luck to Cleverly. He definitely has to go back to the drawing board and fight a few Euro level fighters before trying to step up again.

More Euro fighters? No, he needs a fight or two to regain his confidence and then time to step up.

He fought bum after bum and then when he finally faced a good opponent he was destroyed, he shouldn't do the same anymore.

I give him props because he wanted the fight when Warren clearly didn't want it

I supposed he could fight the likes of Miranda, Chilemba, or Grachev. Hell, get Glen Johnson out of retirement. Even that would be a step up.

The kid is brave, and that's all it takes in a ring to gain to respect. Show no fear and fight the best, he can hold his head up high, he fought the top tier fighter in his wieght and lost.

              No detriment to him.

I still think he's a very talented fighter. No-one else at LHW treats him like Kovalev did tonight.

Not been following Kovalev too long but ever since I saw him dispatch of Campillo I thought he was the real deal.

                  Tonight he further confirmed it.

He's one of the hardest punchers in the sport.

Cleverly's tough but once he was hurt, it was only so long until it was over.
