This sport if becoming a joke if you guys think beating Cotto and Canelo makes you lineal champ because of "the belts"

The way WBC passes belts out and sanctions fights, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves

Canelo needs to do more than just beat Trout to be considered any kind of lineal opponent.

There are so many fighters at 154 waiting for Floyd. He won't be Lineal anything in that weight class any time soon.
Canelo is the champ at 154..and Floyd is #1..how in the hell would this not be for the lineal title?

Call it what you like bruh.... But history and any boxing fans with a brain will know it's the best Lineal title ever purchased... They're not even fighting at the full weight limit FFS...

It's like Pacquiao beating Margarito for the JMW championship after he got KO'd by Mosley then beat some bum in Mexico before fighting Pac, Then they fought at some joke catchweight.

If you acknowledge that as legit, then cool

If Garcia is the lineal champ for beating Khan, then so is Peterson, which makes Mathysse the uncrowned lineal champ

The real fighters in the division are Angulo, Kirkland (despite inactivity due to legal trouble), Lara, Molina (hate his guts), etc...

If Mayweather is the Lineal champ, it would be the best lineal championship ever purchased. That's just how it is.
Angulo-just lost and before that was inactive
                  Kirkland-inactive
Lara-cool dude but hasnt beat a top 154 fighter
                  Molina-lost to kirkland

how are these the real fighters? like it or not canelo-mayweather is for all the marbles

Why are they the real fighters?

                      Lara hasn't beaten a top 154 lb'er?

For one, they're the real fighters because while Canelo was fighting the likes of Alphonzo Gomez and Josesito Lopez, they were all fighting each other.

                      Kirkland vs Angulo/Molina

                      Williams vs Lara

                      So on and so forth.

Lara didn't beat Paul Williams and Angulo?

What you're saying is like saying Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Williams, Cintron etc weren't the real WW's fighting each other in 2008, but Baldomir and Hatton was.
