Belonging to the very distant past and no longer in existence.

He was done/shot/finished and he arguably won the fight.
Well damn what was he when Pac fought him 2 fights later?

now, basing off of the criteria regarding: shane, ortiz, & cotto, all pac needs is a few wins and he should get the same opportunity they did right???? floyd fights guys coming off of wins correct? and clearly pac is perceived to be vulnerable at this stage, so the risk/reward ratio is in floyds favor.
so why slam the door on pac/floyd????

floyd got 5 fights on showtime... basically, pac has that window to make a case for himself so they can finally cash out & retire.
Wax if manny beats tim/jmm winner he makes a case for being the 2nd best ww inthe world and therefore deserves a shot at the lineal ww title. Its hard to argue he deserves a shot righ now after the JMM loss.

Respectfully, pac being vulnerable is the reason many (not all)casual fans and boxing fans have lost interest in the fight. Manny has to look like the KO monster he was before the SHane fight. If he does, ESPN and the rest of mainstream sports media will be calling for this fight again.

Floyd did say "I am probably thinking about this at this partiular time". Its clear he gave Dave Mayo, the reporter from his hometown paper, a scoop to help him out. He didn'tshut the door on the fight.

For him to not earn one dollar from ppv revenue is crazy, but was more money than he could possibly expect to earn-more than 40% more than his biggest payday. I can undertsnad why he turned the 2nd one down but not the first.
Fair enough. So both are at fault.

Two completely different times and situations. You couldnt get that from my post? What relevance does a future event that hasnt even been thought of(the subsequent fights you speak of) when Floyd and his team started this BS back in 2009 have? Manny was accused, grotesquely and publicly with no other purpose than to sully his name and reputation to hurt him when it came to negotiating. How was that not clear.

You're just being a floydiot, lad. Herpa...sherpa..derpa derp.

There isn't universally recognised lineal welterweight title. Only fights that would have made that are May-Pac, and now May-Marquez 2. Just because a fight won't materialise, doesn't mean you can pluck a lineage out of the air. And no, Mayweather's claim to the lineal title vanished after he retired from the scene. He never re-established it.

I may have gotten you wrong though. Pac beating Marquez/Bradley, and then facing Mayweather would establish a lineage, but I wouldn't say it's a "shot" at the title, when it'd be vacant

I thought floyd won the lineal title from SHane. He hasn't retired since then. If I am wrong I apologize.

I'll tweak it just in case I'm wrong.

Floyd is the recognized best ww in the world. Manny is #3 or #4 depending on how you view the tim fight. (i think he beat tim). Ater mouth raping Rios into bolivian, if he beats the tim/jmm winner IMO he is #2 ww again.

At this point a floyd manny fight for ww supremacy is logical. Today, whether you go by offical or unofficial wins and losses, manny can't be considered #2.

If he gave guys like Ortiz, Cotto and Guerrero a chance to fight him, don't see why Pacquiao is out of the picture.

If someone can point me to where Mayweather and GBP said slanderous things to Manny in 09 i'd love to see it, because it's simply not there.

Were you not following at the time? There was tons of it from camp floyd, less from GBP, hence the grovelling apology they were forced to make for their disgusting behaviour last year.
