Top 3 British fighters at present

    I say it's:

    1. Carl Froch
    2. David Haye
    3. George Groves

    Who are your 3?

    1. Haye (still the most popular one)
    2. Froch (probably the best one, the most successful one. Still I chose Grove to beat him)
    3. Fury (the most hyped one)

      1. Carl Froch
      2. Martin Murray
      3. Ricky Burns

Murray is relatively unheralded compared to some UK fighters but he is arguably unbeaten with Sturm and Martinez on his record, fighting both on enemy territory.

Burns is 2 division champ who hasn't lost in 6-7 years. He's on a good run right now, Beltran fight should be interesting.

Haye is definitely top 10 but too inactive for a top 3 place imo and he's not fighting Mayweather-level opposition to justify the inactivity.

I'm not sure Groves even cracks my top 10.

Britain has a pretty big talent pool right now... I think you could rank them thus:

        1) David Haye
        2) Carl Froch (some people could have him #1, not me)
        3) Ricky Burns
        4) Nathan Cleverly
        5) Tyson Fury/Murray/Barker

You might also have one of the British middleweights somewhere in there--definitely not Kell Brook. George Groves hasn't done anything to merit being in the top 5 or top 10 for that matter. If Barker beats Geale, I think he can be ranked at #3.

I considered Martin Murray. That's a good choice.

Also Nathan Cleverly and Scott Quigg.

              An interesting question:

Who do you guys think should be ranked higher with a win this Saturday (assuming both win)? Barker against Geale or Cleverly against Kovalev?

Cleverly. A win over Geale is good but Kovalev is being hyped up as the next GGG.

I really believe Murray should be in the top three if not no.1,Murray beat Martinez, and I am a fan of Sergio, this isn't trolling his name.

Burns I like,I'm not sure he's a top 5 uk fighter for me though.

Froch,it's a difficult one.we know his strengths and weaknesses,so I suppose he should be in the top three at the very least.beating Bute,Mack and a faded Kessler does not mean you've improved after struggling with Johnson,Ward and Dirrell.lets see how he deals with Groves, should he come through that I'd like to see him face Murray and Cleverly to establish who is the best of the Brits.

Cleverly though I believe he wil be knocked out by Kovalev,is still a top three Brit.should he not lose any beat Kovalev,I'd like to see him face the Froch/Groves winner.
