genetics have nothing to do with sitting around and eating too much.

ruiz was three bills when he started his career. 300 lbs...

he has an extreme amount of fat and loose skin on his body.

not every HW is going to be ripped like ali, but there's no excuse for starting a boxing career 100 lbs overweight.

Ur rite bro. Ur very much entitled to ur own opinions, n i can't expect ur views to be my views. I ain't butt hurt, i just refuse to call my man a 'whale in trunks' because as a fan of the sport of boxing, i can appreciate the passion n effort it took boxers such as Ruiz to get to this point in his career, all for the love of the sport n partially to please ungrateful critics n name-callers like urself who act like they wudn't watch him fight anyway. Heo... i ain't mad at'cha... i wud rather C Ruiz fight at watever weight he's in than not fight at all too.

I believe it would do him some good physically as well as health-wise to lose a bit'a weight, but i don't feel i need to resort to call my man names on here like it's actually gonna do somethin'.

Ruiz is beyond chunky/pudgy but has good skills & punch, but a quite short reach 4 a HW...he's never been pushed enuf 2 c his stamina but the xtra pounds may b his downfall...I like Wilder better, the great punch, his ability 2 learn, & from the last bout listening 2 what his corner wanted him 2 do...

These 3 need to battle to decide who is the numero uno Mexican-American HW:

              Chris Arreola
              David Rodriguez
              Andy Ruiz Jr.

No it's pretty easy to see who has the boxing skills. Ruiz is a very talented boxer. Wilder is a great athlete with a great punch. However I think Ruiz if he would take his training more serious and lose weight he'd be a CW and not a HW.

If Wilder had Ruiz boxing skills I'd be 100% sure that Wilder would be the HW champion of the world easily.

If you're on here talking about how a fighter LOOKS you must be a flaming ****! Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Jesus christ is this a man beauty contest or something? I think boxingknowitall and new england are on the wrong website.

Why don't we talk about can the kid fight or not. Who gives a flying f**k how he looks??!! Jeez!!

Oh and for the record Ruiz was born in Mexico but grew up in the US. That's why he speaks english with an american accent.

I like Ruiz much more than Wilder! Ruiz comes out of a J.O. program and then into Open class amatuers. He won titles in Mexico and has had excellant sparring while growing into the sport! He has a plan in ever bout and sticks with it! Double jabs and can come over the top or shot straight right hands to set up his hooks. He pays attention to the body and has good balance throughout his attack!
                    Wilder has a right hand!

Ruiz will need to loose some weight but he will not trim down. He will give away to much weight to his opponents and he doesn't pressure fight like a Frazier or Tyson from underneath. He slips side to side with head movement and punches off that!!! His test will be when someone starts working his body on the sides and then we'll see if his body type fails him or not!
Ruiz has talent over Wilder and he's much younger so his improvement can increase. He can continue on for another 2 years and improve his stamina and punches!

George probably sold the kid a few cookers!!!! Ray

Yeah, Wilder could be a beast to be reckoned with. He was going to be a football or basketball player but turned to boxing after he had his daughter. He's got the raw athleticism. That's obvious in the ring. Watching him fight he has so much potential. He's light on his feet and extremely fast for a guy his size. If he keeps learning new tricks he could be the top dog. I can only dream about a HW division with ONE man at the top... and an AMERICAN
