The first fight was close but there's no need for a rematch. It just isn't a compelling matchup. Paulie served his purpose which was to get Broner an easy WW strap (more difficult than anticipated by Team Broner though). Broner should be focused on facing Maidana now.

Of course he wouldn't, he had to fight hard and he's not going to get paid as much. Hope Maidana wrecks him.

A rematch would be useless. Malignaggi's punches were too soft for a guy like Broner. Waste of time.

          Good. No rematch is necessary.

Maidana is a solid fighter, a little on the down slope, but still dangerous enough to give Boner plenty to figure out and enough power to take him out if he gets complacent, as he did against Paulie.
The fight wasn't bad but it's the build-up that gets me most with Broner v Malignaggi. Last time was entertaining but next time there would be genuine spite.

Paulie made a mistake post-fight imo, he should have hit Broner when he disrespected him in his interview in front of his people. He would've got the rematch for sure.

Maidana is next, I see Broner winning but as you say it's a good test for him.

From Broner's standpoint, I can understand why he's not taking the rematch.

He will struggle again, he will look underwhelming again and not get paid as well and he has plenty of other lucrative options.

It's in his best interest to put the (underhwhelming) Malignaggi performance behind him.

Funny I was having a debate about Adrien last night and finally got around to watchig his FNF with Quintero..let's just say Adrien got a W on his record he shouldn't have..that 0 should be a 1.

It's not an either/or situation though. Broner could have said he was willing to rematch anyone if the public wants but that Maidana is next for him.

Paulie needs to go and fight someone else and push his claims.
