I like Wilder, and it would be great if he reached HW champ, since he lives 1 state over from me, and I'd get to see some cool boxing cards close by for a change. Having said that, I agree with most that Solis is too much for him at this point. Maybe Arreola or Mitchell now, but not Solis. He's too good of a boxer.

      Wilder-Solis is a bigger mismatch than Nonito-Rigondeaux.

There is no chance that goldenboy puts Wilder in the same ring with Solis.

Good point. It's why Oner is licking his chops over this fight. Wilder is making some noise, but he's still a little green. It's the perfect time to jump on him. In a couple of more years, Deontay might be a bit too much to handle.

Wilder isn't ready for that just yet. Needs more development.

Plus it would be a very low reward fight. I don't imagine that Oner is offering a bigger payday than he would get against Arreola for example.

Wilder tags Solis with a couple body shots and then an overhand right when the guard drops. KO in rd 3

Solis would only be in there to survive and go the distance. There's no way he would put himself in harm's way of Deontay Wider's punching power. He would only try to slow down the pace and make it a very boring fight. I'd rather see Wilder fight the likes of either Mitchell or Arreola; Guys who are actually going to show up and fight and willing trade punches with him in order to win.

It would be exposure at the highest level. Solis is skilled enough to take away Wilder's only weapon: the right hand.

But it sounds too good to be true, because as long as that rat Oner is running Solis' career he's not going to get any fights. Oner might be the most unlikable promoter next to Gary Shaw. The way he conducts himself before and after fights, the way he looks, the comments he makes. You probably have to wash your hands, after you shake his.

Just go watch the Klitschko-Solis post fight, and you'll see Oner behaving like an raving idiot, rather than a professional.

I doubt this flies as Wilder's camp doesn't want him 2 be taken in2 the deep waters of the late rounds, even w/that big punch...more apt, as mentioned, some1 like Guinn, a "safe" name...I like the winner of Mitchell/Aereola for early '14...

This would be a very, very good fight for the heavyweight division.

It would be real nice if it happened.

Wilder should take this fight. Solis is most overrated hw of the last 5 years and as previous posts indicate, he's still overrated.

Let's look at one of Solis' recent outing:

He went life and death with the out of shape and technically deficient Leif Larsen. Really? If he struggles with a taller and bigger opponent who's out-of-shape and lacks in the skill department how would he fare against a tall strong athletic and power fighter like Wilder?
