Khan is a good pick.
Which fighter do you respect the most?

I am not sure that taking your beating like a man is such a thing to be respected. Take a beating to chase a win, sure.
But to take a Jerry Quarry style beating in matches where you cant win and end up with dementia/Parkinsons/Alzheimers etc for life isn't being a man, its ****** and enormously disrespectful to your future with your family and yourself. Family is the first thing that counts when being a man.Comment

its hard to have excuses when you immediately run to the dressing room after a loss.Originally posted by Shad0wB0xerMiguel Cotto.
Never ducked anyone, fought nothing but the best in his era, never had any excuses when he came up short and never had any asterisks attached to his name (gifted decisions in which he clearly lost, PED cheat, etc.).

Showcase of skills in an entertaining and courageous manner. I respect all fighters that are willing to engage...and have boxing skills. 2 drunks slugging it out is not too fascinating.
Boxing is not ice skating. It's a gladiator sport. We're attracted to it by the danger. Cowering from danger is not very appealing. But there's a breed of fans that view boxing differently and appreciate this cowardice. They see boxing as one guy trying to beat you up, so they root for the "poor" guy that is trying to "defend" himself.Comment

you do have to respect floyd though. what he has accomplished in boxing is nothing short of extraordinary and it takes a tremendous amount of character to do so. the discipline, the dedication, the sacrifices.. you have to respect that.
you have to respect the fact that hes one of the all time greats and the best of his time. also, no matter if you want to admit it or not he has taken on a lot of tough opponents, this should be obvious but somehow ppl manage to pretend otherwise.
finally lets keep in mind he has shown a lot of toughness in the ring too, another thing ppl like to pretend isnt true.
mayweather deserves as much respect as anyone in the game right now.

No one HAS to do anything. Respect isn't just about how good someone is at something, whether it be as an athlete or a person. It's a combination of things.you do have to respect floyd though. what he has accomplished in boxing is nothing short of extraordinary and it takes a tremendous amount of character to do so. the discipline, the dedication, the sacrifices.. you have to respect that.

Examples other than Mayweather cos that argument is old and tired:
1. James Toney, terrific fighter, I'd rank him highly but I don't respect the fool, he is an illiterate piece of **** and that's fact. A drugs cheat, a thug and a trash talker with 0 charisma or wit. Very good fighter, possibly great but do I respect him? No.
2. Tony Margarito, one of the most feared punchers of his era, one of the best guys at 147 over the last decade and a beast of a man but do I respect him? Hell no, the man is an un-remorseful cheat he could have put several fighter's lives at risks with what he did. I ain't got any respect for fools like this.
I rate Floyd highly, imo not the best of his era but up there definitely, a resume lacking in great, prime or close prime opponents but that can't be helped now. do I think he is a great champion? Mostly, yes. Would I point him out to future generations as a stand up athlete and human being? No. Thus, do I respect him enough to care for what he does or how he does it? No.Comment

I respect Khan, he hasn't got much outside of the ring in terms of personality and so on, but he gives a 100% every fight, gets up after hard, HARD knock downs and wants to fight the best. He won't ever be the best of his generation but he is definitely the most throwback guy at 140-147 (barring may be JMM or Pac).Comment
