Eminem and Jay Z are both undoubtedly two of the greatest, but Eminem's wordplay and rhyme schemes s**t all over Jay.

Also, Eminem had more vision as an artist than anyone in recent memory. You might catch Em on a track similar in sound to stuff Jay creates.....you wouldn't ever.....EVER catch Jay making a song like Stan, 97' Bonnie and Clyde, etc.

Jay sits up all night, thinking about Lose Yourself, and says this to himself...."Damn I wish I could make something that perfect".

Jay has better business ventures outside of hip hop, but within hip hop Em's a tad bit greater.

Kweli is right. Eminem had some of the greatest vision of any recent emcee, and no matter the time he's a Top 5 emcee dead or alive.

If Eminem were black, he'd the Muhammad Ali of rap. Words from the god emcee himself.

Seriously, I'm black and the amount of hate that white boy gets from brothers simply because his skin color is outrageous. He gets his props too, but if he were black, oh lord. The black community wouldn't ever have doubted him one bit.

Also calling Em one dimensional shows you don't know d*ck about hip hop.

Take his bars on stuff like Forever, Till I Collapse, Cleaning Out My Closet, Stan, The Way I Am, Guilty Conscience, Dead Wrong, you already see several different varieties of flow. That's only naming a few too.

I'm familiar with the NY hip-hop scene, seeing as I've lived here all my life. I can tell you right now that Jay-Z has never come close to making an album as good as his debut Reasonable Doubt. Even that album had its fair share of filler songs. A lot of artists have difficulty replicating the success of their debut album. Nas is a perfect example of someone who couldn't escape the Illmatic shadow.

However Jay-Z's lyrics have gotten progressively worse with each album. It's really due to his lack of creativity. He was never a great lyricist. He was good but he could never match up with the likes of Nas, Rakim and Biggie. His beef with Nas illustrated that, as Ether was clearly the dominant track over "Take over". The best thing Jay-Z had going for him was his rapid fire rhymes. And of course his relationship to Beyonce, which kept him relevant.

Eminem has always been relevant in the game. Following his debut album, which was a disaster, he responded with one great album after another and has had some memorable tracks. Where he may lack in the rhyming scheme that Jay-Z possess, he certainly topples Jay-Z in the "impact" on hip-hop, and certainly has the creativity edge over him as well.

                    overall Em> Jay-Z. Jay-Z is very overrated.
