Stevens Camp didn't reject the offer, they are still considering it. Tom Loeffler, Managing Director of K2 Promotions, said that the offer was made and “we are waiting for the response which should be after this weekend." Main Events has tweeted that the offer is still under consideration.

A KO against a scared Matthew Macklin is as impressive as wet paint. Macklin is an over rated C- fighter. So lets get off GGG ball sac and hope the fight goes through, and 300k ant **** after taxes, paying manager, sparing and trainer fees. Curtis would be lucky to take home 75-90 k after all is said and done.
Considering Stevens biggest purse is probably in the $25K-$30K range, the $300K K2 has offered would be roughly 10 times what he has made before....No reason for team Stevens to not jump at a chance for a title shot AND huge exposure on HBO unless they KNOW that he will be obliterated on a world wide stage. Still a good gamble if you think about it.

This is the kind of money they deal with on NBC

Quillin took his title shot for 150k, and he was undefeated, and had demolished Brinkley, who did the same to Stevens. Hard to see how Stevens deserves more than 2x as much.Considering Stevens biggest purse is probably in the $25K-$30K range, the $300K K2 has offered would be roughly 10 times what he has made before....No reason for team Stevens to not jump at a chance for a title shot AND huge exposure on HBO unless they KNOW that he will be obliterated on a world wide stage. for a matchup on NBC Sports back in Jan 2012. You can do the math and figure there is not a lot of money for the fighters when you look at the split.
"An IBF junior welterweight title eliminator between Zab Judah and Vernon Paris is coming this spring, as Main Events won a purse bid with an offer of $70,112"
This would easily be Stevens biggest payday in his career. The only reason I see them turning this offer down($300K) is if they think they could make more in the near future as they let the thought of a showdown between GGG & Stevens "simmer" a bit longer. Of course its a risky move as Stevens could get beat again and his shot will be long gone. I'm betting Ms Duva takes the fight now.

And a loss doesn't hurt him. Gabe Rosado's stock actually went up when he lost to Golovkin. He got a televised fight on a Mayweather PPV and will likely get another big fight.Considering Stevens biggest purse is probably in the $25K-$30K range, the $300K K2 has offered would be roughly 10 times what he has made before....No reason for team Stevens to not jump at a chance for a title shot AND huge exposure on HBO unless they KNOW that he will be obliterated on a world wide stage. Rosado's stock went up cause he did better than expected. Macklin and Proksa's stock dropped. Curtis carries a lot of hype somehow, and may not make it as far as any of these guys.Comment

Macklin's is unforseen for now, but he'll probably go back to England for some domestic fights.
Proksa took a while off and had a tune-up but fell short against Mora.
Ishida had a comeback fight against some crap tier opponent, he'll probably try to make one more go at somethingComment
