To be fair to Arum, did he ever give a specific number after the fight? I read alot of reports post fight citing a 100-300 million figure, but I always got the impression they were just quoting Arum's pre-fight prediction.

Boxing is not big in China though.

when Zou Shiming fought he wasn't even a popular search trend for that day.

His fight was viewed by like 2 million or so Chinese. Basketball is much more popular in China, Jeremy Lin and Kobe Brynt have millions of fans. over 150 million Chinese will tune into NBA basketball.

This is why Arum is trying to build up boxing in China, people like Angel can hate on that, but Arum is trying to expand the sport. in 2008 Don King tried to expand to China when he signed Marco Antonio Barrera and had him fight in China with Andrew Golota in the heavyweight event, but it didn't draw much interest, and King just gave up.

For the Pac vs. Rios fight the fight will probably do like 5 to 10 million ppv buys in China at 5 dollars a pop. Now that I estimate it, I thought it was 5 dollars for tv, but its only being show on MOBILE devices in China from what I heard, that means they will only be able to watch on their phones or small tablets, and I doubt they will pay for that.

Boxing just isn't huge enough yet in China, Arum is trying to break ground in that market and it will take a while.

Shiming fighting 17-18 year olds give me a break. Arum knows that he sucks and he will never lose a decision until he fights for a title. For HBO to stoop this low and showing these crappy cards it just shows how much they care about the sport of Boxing. Arum and Top Rank run things on HBO, when Bradley-Marquez and Pacquiao-Rios arr on PPV it's a shame. If Arum is making so much $$$ in China why doesn't he show the Pacquiao-Rios for free on HBO here in the US? Greedy bastard if it was his choice Alavarado-Ruslan and Chavez-Vera would be on PPV.
