A few months ago, trainer Angel Garcia spoke to BoxingScene.com and took several shots at two-time Olympic champion Zou Shiming of China. Garcia was unhappy with the way HBO was pushing Shiming, and the way Shiming was getting paid, in comparison to many Olympians from the United States who are not getting paid and unable to get major television dates for several years.

On Thursday, Garcia once again took aim at Shiming, 32-years-old, over his recent showcase on HBO and the paycheck he received of $500,000 for only his second pro fight, which came against an 18-year-old prospect from Mexico, Jesus Ortega.

It's the law of supply and demand.

Who cares if they don't know ***** about boxing, *****, neither do 90% of the posters on this website. They demand to watch their local icon or whatever he is as the main event. They don't care who he is fighting. They want to see him. So you have 40K people attending HIS events, therefore he's getting paid accordingly. I have no problem with that.

Danny is my boy and all, but at the moment, there is no big demand for him on TV. He's got a buzz, that's about it. Sept 14 will allow him to a chance to step into the big leagues when it comes to PPV/earning potential/Events.

I don't get the comparison or why he's mad, it is what it is. Why do NFL players get paid a boatload of cash? There is a demand for the product (i.e. the players) therefore they're paid accordingly. I wish he'd just STFU already and just guide his son the best way he can.
