Hype. He wants to fight GG. GG is the one being hyped, and he has not beaten a respected soul yet.

Agreed. Stevens definitely impressed last night and is worth keeping an eye on. Any fighter with the type of power he seems to have is going to be intriguing and I look forward to watching his next fight.

But some fans lose all perspective when a propsect scores a devastating knockout. Stevens deserves to see his stock rise after his performance, but suggesting that he has completely upended the middleweight pecking order with a single knockout over an opponent who had lost by KO/TKO six times before requires one to throw away all perspective.

I'm surprised no one on here is losing their mind on this one. When it comes to stalling tactic this is just ridiculous. Imagine if Leonard Ellerbe said this.

Yeah, it's pointless. It does nothing for Floyd as he wouldn't get a victory over a Middleweight Champion who's resume consists of Middleweight wins, and GGG would gain nothing as he would probably lose due to 1) Floyd being a great fighter and 2) GGG not being at a 100%.

And #1 and #2 are recipe for disaster. It's hard enough beating Floyd at your best, yet alone being weight drained.

Respected soul? If macklin is a respected soul for Marvilla, then surely when when GGG wipes the floor with him. I'm sure he is a credible opponent. Also Martinez beat macklin granted but he did struggle against him. Proksa is a solid win. So I'm sorry but your excuse don't work, it's a simple duck from the Martinez camp. Just wait until GGG good boys Martinez.

Ah but you see this is like a Floyd Vs Baldomir situation. What's the usual answer: "Floyd fought the real Welterweight Champion for the WBC Title in Baldomir". It doesn't matter what anyone think of Baldo as a fighter right?

As long as Martinez holds the true Middleweight Title and the WBC belt at that, it's a good and key win for GGG to have. And then on to the next one, since beating Martinez won't be his retirement fight.

GGG's boxing ability + power + ability to close the ring is all wrong floyd. Just like margarito GGG would make floyd fight for 12 and not just stand there like P4P Guerrero. So all wrong for him.
