That's another thing, martinez is no longer in his prime so the fight with ggg isn't as intriguing as it would be if martinez were like 3 years younger...but it is martinez and he's the top guy at 160 so of course it would be a great opportunity for ggg... any supposed super fight against martinez isn't so intriguing because his time is just about up

Continuing to hear significant resistance from Curtis Stevens team to making a GGG fight in November.

Golovkin is scheduled to return on an HBO televised date of November 2, and Stevens has been mentioned as a possible candidate.

Since moving down to the middleweight division, Stevens has displayed deadly power. He crushed Saul Roman in the first round on Saturday night, and he immediately called for a fight with Golovkin. Martinez is still recovering from his win over Martin Murray in April. He suffered several injuries during the fight and won't return to action until the first quarter of 2014. [Click Here To Read More]

All this hype about Stevens is becoming a tad ridiculous.

Lewcowicz is pretty smart. He is discrediting any win that Golovkin gets over a Martinez opponent because Sergio ruined them. Golovkin WOULD murder Stevens though, he has bad defense.

Personally, I think GGG has reached a level of dominance against the level of opponents he's been fighting combined with hype that its time for a defining/statement fight. And I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon at the middleweight division or lower. Sergio is ready to cash out and GGG is probably is last choice. So GGG is probably pissing in the wind trying to chase that fight down.

GGG is now at a level where even when he isn't ducking he would be accused of ducking... Welcome to the other side.. G.

GGG vs Geale/Barker is way more legit, but hey since GGG wants to fight 2 more
times this year, he should just get both Stevens and Geale/Barker winner.

We don't want to see another one sided fight where the guy fighting GG is NO threat at all. Stevens at least offers a punchers chance. He may lose, but the threat is there.
