Mayweather is in a bigger decline than Pacquiao

Now I know how ludicrous the title sounds but when you take a look at things in a not so fickle way you'll notice that in each fighters last 4 fights (excludng the C grade fighter Guerrero) Mayweather has looked less ''there'' in terms of his physical attributes. He's still got the handspeed, but his footwork and mobility has declined a lot in comparison to his peak years. Now I know the first thing people will point to after reading this is the Guerrero fight, but Guerrero was a very sloppy, average C+ fighter in my opinion. Before that fight the Floyd groupies all talked him up to be such a credible beast that could end Floyd's unbeaten run, when in reality anyone who watched tape on the dude could see he wasn't elite class and had nothing that could threaten Floyd. Plus he had only two previous bouts at Welterweight... Seeing the reaction after that fight was hilarious, everyone calling him the GOAT after beating the beast that is Guerrero.

Now this brings me to the Mosley, Cotto and Ortiz fights. Against Mosley Floyd showed tremendous grit and determination to stand his ground after those brutal blows that he got caught with. But Mosley was 37 going on 38 and Floyd was 33. Floyd got caught badly in that fight by a guy 5 years his senior and looked very flatfooted.

Against a shot Cotto he was getting outmuscled and tagged like he's not used to being. His stamina was great but again he was getting into situations that are unusual for a guy like Floyd, there was one round against him that was the most dominant i've seen against Floyd and again he didn't look fleet footed at all.

Against Ortiz he looked the worst of the three I've mentioned in my opinion. Ortiz was doing pretty damn well before he blew a fuse and broke down mentally. Ortiz was tagging him with the straight left, outmuscleing him, and walking through his shots. Mayweather looked again flat footed and a lot less mobile and light on his feet than Ortiz. Floyd felt threatened in that fight which I believe played a part in him dishing out that cheap shot.. justifiable or not.

Pacquiao recently lost his last two fights. The first was a clear as day robbery and the second was against a roided up Marquez. Despite the fact that he lost these fights he still showed that he has ''it''. His physical attributes are still there, before the Marquez KO we could see that the speed, power, footwork and explosiveness is still there, maybe not 2009 levels but it's still there regardless.

Green k sent, floyd is the product of opponent selection. Manny Has replaced Ali as boxing's figurehead and flaccid mayweather hates this. Flaccid will never be the dominant persona in boxing

I thought as much during the ortiz and cotto fights but he looked in great shape v Guerrero but as you say Guerrero is not exactly sugar ray robinson and was moving up too.

What are the odds for the canelo fight at btw

Don't know but they're giving Canelo a chance at the upset. The dude's work ethic is outstanding no doubt and he looked in incredible shape against Guerrero but Guerrero simply isn't elite.

There's something disturbing about hearing a man describe another man as flaccid.

You don't wanna see your boy get whooped by Pacquiao that's why you don't want the fight to happen.

I gotta disagree on some parts,,

I thought floyd looked great vs ortiz,,, floyd was coming off another long "retirement" and basically beat up ortiz with the straight right,,, floyd's timing and reflexes were great i thought,, yes ortiz was starting to fight back in the 4th, but he wasnt doing much damage to floyd,,,,

Yes i think floyd's legs are alittle slower but i dont think he has faded as much as manny,,,

Manny just got laid out, and hasnt fought since,, hard to say he is closer to prime than floyd when floyd hasnt been out ko'd and manny has been put to sleep..
