Do you have a link to an article or interview where Khan flat out denies fighting Maidana again? I'd like to see that.

That is fair enough but Prescott clearly beat McCloskey & was robbed and even with a loss its better than an 80th ranked 5ft6 lightweight who had never beaten absolutely anybody of any note.

It seems that the verbal war between Marcos Maidana and Amir Khan that lasted almost one year is about to end as the British fighter has finally admitted publicly that he does not want to give Maidana a rematch. “A lot of you want to see the Maidana rematch (and) yes it was a cracking fight. I enjoyed watching it too. It could happen. Let’s see him fight Bradley,” Khan said today. After Maidana asked Khan for the rematch of the 2010 fight of the year Khan, looked the other way citing different excuses. Now, Khan finally admits that he wants no part of Maidana again and is telling Maidana whom he should fight next. Therefore, Maidana is offering the British a position as his new advisor.

“Well, finally Khan has admitted that he doesn’t wanna see me around him inside the ring so as he’s been lately suggesting that I should face Jessie Vargas, Erik Morales and now Tim Bradley we thought that we could end the bad blood and offered him to be my new advisor,” Maidana said.

“We discussed it with Marcos and the rest of the team and came to the conclussion that adding Amir Khan as Maidana’s new advisor is a great option. He could even be joined by Alex Ariza as a co-advisor as they are experts on telling people what to do,” Maidana’s current advisor Sebastian Contursi explained.

“Since Khan didn’t accept to fight Maidana again now we hope that Amir accepts this new challenge,” Contursi added.

Khan clearly did not say he never wishes to fight Maidana again. Just because he had other plans than an immediate or close to it rematch doesn't mean he doesn't want to fight Maidana again. I don't believe for one second that Khan has said he doesn't want to fight anyone. Perhaps he just doesn't see the point in fighting someone who he'd already beaten. And remember, it was Khan who pushed for the Maidana fight.

One thing that occurs to me is this. Bradley fought Provodnikov, at the time a sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao and wasn't seen as anything special. He gets beaten and knocked down - resulting in people saying he's got so much heart and Ruslan is suddenly a beast now etc.

Khan fights Diaz, gets knocked down but still clearly wins at least 8-9 rounds. People say es **** and he doesn't have a chin etc.

          See the difference?

HAHAHAHAH So true, saddest part is I think if Alexander mans up, signs the contract and fights Khan, he'll win, his biggest fight since Bradley and his biggest win period.

I love how Khan gets flack for fighting two tune ups. Critics totally ignore the circumstances leading to those fights.

Khan vs Peterson was a travesty. Not only did Khan do enough to win that fight, even with the point deductions, he also out performed Peterson who was on performance enhancing drugs at the time. However it was a grueling match and probably took something out of Khan, which is a shame because the playing field was heavily skewed in Peterson's favor.

In his next fight against Garcia, Khan started brightly and was outclassing Garcia until his recklessness caught up with him and he was knocked down with a tremendous left hook. He bravely fought back and landed some great shots against Garcia, but he absorbed too much punishment and the referee rightly stopped the fight.

Peterson and Garcia were incredibly tough fights for Khan, and after back to back defeats - one by vicious KO, all fighters need to rebuild.

The Molina fight is what it is. A confidence builder which Khan was expected to look good in. He delivered.

Khan was also expected to look good against Diaz which he failed to do, but in credit to Diaz, he fought to a draw in his previous fight with the highly regarded Shawn Porter, and always had enough power to trouble the likes of Khan. It was a credible fight for a boxer coming off two very hard defeats.

Now we're in a situation where Khan has had his gimme fights and is ready to step back in with a credible world class opponent, however, these supposedly world class opponents don't want to fight. Khan is more than big enough a star and financial attraction to 'deserve' a fight with Alexander. This is someone who won his belt off an old, shot Randall Bailey. The title was essentially handed to him.

If Alexander's team views Khan as too much of a risk, then that's fine. Admit it, stop making excuses, and move on - fight another Lee Purdy if that's what makes you happy. Just make a decision!

Plus Khan only fought Judah because Bradley didn't want to fight him.
