The thing is Time Warner is a powerhouse, CBS isn't as powerful a conglomerate as Time Warner.

I think Time Warner was the second highest earning media conglomerate in the world. CBS needs Time Warner more than Time Warner needs CBS.

Its why HBO could toss out more money per fight, Showtime sports actually would take a bad hit if Showtime doesn't pull through with their 250 million contract to Floyd.

The Floyd Guerrero PPV didn't succeed at all, not by Mayweather standards at least, and it showed with the low ratings for the All access show. They needed a certain number to break even for the PPV and didn't. They took a loss from the millions they spent in advertising and promotions for the fight as well, for Canelo vs. Mayweather they spent even more money promoting this fight, especially on their long press tour that spanned through multiple Cities.

Its why they had to make this Canelo fight they needed a big fight, now that Time Warner which owns HBO dropped CBS from their network, it could hurt the chances of breaking the record of 2.4 million like Richard Shaeffer claimed.

If anything that guy who runs Sho sports, Stephan Espinoza's job is on the line here, because Showtime hired him after Hershman left to HBO, and he is the one who told Showtime that the deal with Floyd and haymon will not be a regret. If he doesn't deliver financially like he assured Showtime, he will probably lose his job.

TM is not that powerful. Disregard Floyd VS. Canelo. The hype and PPV buys will be there. They just did a 12 city tour. TM is about to get a lot of pressure. How many people watch the morning shows and sitcoms? How many people watch the NFL pre-season plus the regular season starts on September 8th? Also, the best conference(SEC) in college football is featured on CBS. Not to mention the highest profile game of the year on September 14th(Alabama vs Texas A&M). If I am CBS, I wait them out.

Exactly people think this is about Floyd this is bigger than that its 21 weeks of NFL and college football they can't afford not to have; football is eight times bigger than boxing.

That's not true anymore. Retransmission fees are huge in the broadcasting industry.

I heard this only affected major markets, like NYC, LA, etc. Was like whew... turned on the TV and tuned in to showtime and...

                      I'm in Hawaii btw...

This better be resolved quickly.. and I know it will because there will be TONS of pissed of TW customers. As was said earlier, nobody ****s with Americans and their football, and I happen to be in that demographic.
