Excellent post! That's how I view the differences between the 2 fights. Trout cruised through the fight on the outside. Mayweather looked uncomfortable throughout most of the fight along the ropes.

Both fights were competitive. But since 90% of fans thought Floyd would win and 90% of fans thought Trout would lose, I'll pick Trout.

Rewatched both fights a few times and I have to say that both Floyd and Trout won easily.

It seemed as though they were more competitive than they really were at first, but rewatching Cotto got soundly beat both times.

I gave Cotto 4 rounds against Mayweather and about the same vs Trout. I thought Trout hit him more, and really muscled Cotto around more than I thought he would.

Mayweather outboxed him but also adjusted late in the fight to hurt him with a nice uppercut.

          I have to say Trout.

Trout was more dominant. But this was due to Cotto's lack of aggression.

In terms of the scorecards, they were both wide wins. They could have even been the same scores or similar.

In terms of overall competitiveness, I thought Mayweather-Cotto was more competitive. Cotto busted his nose up and Floyd looked embarrassed at times getting his head jabbed off. Trout looked pretty comfortable throughout.

In terms of rounds won, they did about the same. I just think that Trout being a southpaw and so rangy made it a lot easier for him to win those rounds. He was never really bothered by anything Cotto did.

One thing to take into consideration is that Cotto was much better prepare for Floyd and did not seem to have a game plan nor being at his best for the Trout fight.

IMHO Cotto didnt really consider Trout dangerous or as dangerous and did not train properly nor had the right game plan.

Plus all the other distractors with the high altitude training and drama with his mother makimg him cut his training cycle short.
In all Floyd did better than Trout facing a much better prepared Cotto.

Cotto made Floyd fight more of his fight and Trout made Cotto fight more of his fight so Trout by a small margin.

If i remember correctly I had Trout winning 116-112 I also had Mayweather winning 116-112.

But i kinda felt Mayweather struggled more than Trout did. And that Cotto struggled more against Trout than he did against Mayweather.

That being said Mayweather >>>>>>> Trout
