Thurman's a win or two away from being as good an option as Ortiz or Guerrero were. If Mayweather's fighting welterweights, than Thurman's an option in the future.

The difference being the we division is heating up rite now as opposed to where it had been prior. Thurmans resume isn't even close to either Guerrero's or Ortiz and that says something. I think one win at welter won't do it for him. Not with the way things are looking at that weight right now.

If Thurman has a belt why not.
          What other options are there?
          Alexander?
          Garcia/Matthysse?

Garcia/mathysse winner, Alexander/khan winner, Bradley when his deal with top rank is up. That's 3 fights right there. There's time but not much of it and the landscape may be very different in a year. I don't picture Thurman being a viable option anytime soon

Bradley will likely end up joining them next year. I still think Alexander/Khan is next, if not the Garcia/Matthysse winner. If thurman wins the full WBA belt, he'll be an option.... but I'll agree not an immediate option. Compared to everyone else, he's the least known fighter and his only points of leverage are a belt and a 0.

No one's exactly saying Thurman's on the radar right now. Next year, assuming he keeps winning, he probably will be. Next year, Pac could be an option again, we don't know.

Just going off what is easily predictable, Thurman could be an option. Let's say Thurman fights the whatever winner of the two fights you mentioned that doesn't get Mayweather next and beats them: why not Thurman then? It's entirely possible.

Honestly I don't think Khan or Alexander ever land a Mayweather fight, those won't sell, the casuals may be ****** but they're not that ******.

Guerrero and Ortiz beat Berto and Aydin between them at Welter, that's it.

Thurman is on the right track but as i said earlier in the thread,, the guys in line are:

                      danny/lucas winner
bradley if he beat jmm and leaves TR
                      alexander/khan winner.......

if thurman gets 2 more quality wins like broner, maidana, ortiz, karass,,
he could get a shot in 2015,,,
he just needs to keep winning,,
his style is fan friendly so he is an easy sell,,

                      just win baby
