He didn't even pull out. He simply said hell to the fkin no.

Oh OK. So Maidana needed a tuneup for the great Josesito Lopez. I get it now.

a tune up for the welter division, is it too hard to understand?

Maidana Ducked Thurman for the good of his career, he has gone on to have 2 stoppage wins vs decent opponents and now has a title shot. Fighting Thurman at that time would have been bad business as hardly anyone knew who he was as he hadn't been on TV.

Beating Thurman then wouldn't have done much for his career but imagine if he would have lost to him?, "Maidana lost to an unknown, he is finished" would have been the outcry from the morons and haters.

Thurman is an extremely tough fight, i can understand why Chino didn't fight him, i'm sure he would now as Thurman has a name and is ranked. This fight has now become a big fight. If Broner stays at 147 its Maidana vs Boner, if he vacates its Maidana vs Thurman. I'm pretty sure of that.

I'll admit this looked a bit like a coward at the time move but in hindsight, it was brilliant matchmaking from maidana's team/Goldenboy and Brilliant knowledge of Thurman's potential and talent.

Maidana has been known to do that from time to time..I'd rather see Maidana fight Broner tbh tho..Thurman should fight Karass IMO..

Maidana been known to be a *****. He faked a back injury twice to get out of a contract he signed to fight Timothy Bradley. I will never let his **** talking fans on this forum forget that.

There's evidence. If Maidana himself didn't duck his team/promoter did as they felt an easier fight was need. It is what it is. These things happen in Boixng.

People forget sometimes that this is a business and Maidana has done well from this. Making good money in his last 2 fights and earning a title shot.

So, why he fired his adviser? Man, you know the real story, he was ripped off by his adviser.
