I knew Broner is still a lightweight and can put on pounds to fight at WW, So ultimately cutting 12lbs will be easy for him. Last year Broner was fighting at 130lbs more than twice.

Bleacher Report has a lot of false articles but if this turns out to be true dropping to lightweight after coming in as a solid welterweight is never a good career move. I bet he felt his performance against Paulie was not what he hoped and realized fighting Maidana at 147 wouldn't go well either.

After fighting at 147, if I was his trainer I would have him try 140, but that would mean Matthysse. Not a good career move either!

For Broner to be a full fledged fighter in the division the way he likes, he has to be cutting weight to get to it. He weighed more than 147 on fight night, im sure of that.

So he would be cutting more than 12 lbs.

Also, its easier on the body to move up than down. That's gonna kill his punch resistance.

Its basically this.. Broner went on twitter talking all that trash to Maidana and Matts, but instead of making a declarative statement that he is at 147 to stay to stake his claim, he wants his escape chute to 135 still open. And that's all it is.

If he was all about that trash talk he would have dropped his 135 belt to let people know he at 147 for good, and he would be pursuing Maidana relentlessly. He aint backing up his trash, and he's leaving an escape route. That sounds like someone who is sure of themselves. Not.

Its too early to be saying broner is ducking maidana, Its what ever he wants to do keeping 135 don't say anything but he still wants the title and nothing more.

                  Broner is a 140 fighter

He is ducking 140 altogether. especially once Matthysse is holding them belts.
