Honestly, I can't see why Floyd Mayweather Jr. shouldn't be able to beat Duran the way Leonard beat him. Floyd has the height, reach and speed advantage + better technique.

Watch Duran's fights. He gets easily frustrated when not being able to hit the target. Floyd would make him miss all night and counter his slow ass. I like Duran, he's on my personal top 10 list but he's reaching here. Tries to stay relevant but he's three decades behind.

And like I say, if Floyd can't bring himself to fight a guy like Pac, how's he gonna fight a beast like Duran?? You do realize Duran is every bit and worse the pressure fighter a prime Castillo was.

2nd-If Mayweather managed to find a way to duck, dodge, and maneuver around fighting guys like Casamayor, Freitas, Johnston, Tszyu, P. Williams, Mosley (at Lightweight), Margarito, Cotto in 2008, and Pac (2009-present), how in the h-ll do you expect him to fight killers like Duran, Hearns, Leonard, and Pryor lmao!!!

3rd-Duran was PAST his prime when he handed Leonard his first loss. In the rematch, it was a CLOSE fight, before Leonard's antics caused Duran to quit. Stop showing your ignorance and watch these fights before commenting.

4th-Mayweather is GREAT defensively, but he did lose to Castillo, and was losing until Delahoya stopped jabbing. No idea why he stopped jabbing, but it wasn't because of any adjustment Floyd made.

No one can help when they were born nor should Mayweather be criticized and blamed for the fact that there are no other boxers in his current era. That is not his fault either. No one said anything when Lennox Lewis was rolling through the poor heavyweight division or when Mike Tyson had no one to fight. Its the same thing, you just keep fighting and winning. Hopefully he has some competition in this fight with Canelo and the next two fights either with Garcia Matthyssee winner or Rios and Pacquaio winner. Should be interesting regardless.

He's missed all the guys over the last 10-12 years that would have given him a real challenge...he went life and death with a dead man walking in Cotto? Why's he so great?

strongly agree with this. the floyd huggers are ridiculous. durans pressure would have got to floyd eventually and hearns would have taken him out with that murderous right cross. if an old shot mosely could hurt mayweather badly just imagine a prime hearns right hand

Furthermore, does anyone really even think a prime Floyd beats a prime Delahoya?? After their fight, with Oscar on basically a 5 fight skid I say no way...does he beat a prime Felix Trinidad? Trinidad would smoke him like a cigarette.

I actually like Floyd and think he's funny, he was great on 24/7, but no way he'd keep up with any of the ATG's in my opinion...

All durans prime losses were to boxers who used their length and speed to beat roberto. If kirkland laing and esteban dejesus could beat a prime duran is it a stretch that a 1st ballot hof'er, with a 6 inch reach advantage, and more speed and better balance could give duiran trouble?

I've seen a ton of posts in this thread trashing Cholo and Mayweather but the simple truth is they are two of the best that ever did it. Mayweather belongs in the mix.
Me though, I like Duran to bully him around the ring and work him over.
