This post is pretty spot on IMO. Also people only are judging 147 Floyd. If you think 130,135 & 140 Floyd would have been regular in any era you should go watch bar fights instead of boxing. 147 Floyd beats Duran but not sure about his lower weights Duran was stone cold.

simply, this is not about would Floyd have beaten SRL, Duran, Hagler..etc., that could be debated 20 different ways..

No one can help when they were born nor should Mayweather be criticized and blamed for the fact that there are no other boxers in his current era. That is not his fault either. No one said anything when Lennox Lewis was rolling through the poor heavyweight division or when Mike Tyson had no one to fight. Its the same thing, you just keep fighting and winning. Hopefully he has some competition in this fight with Canelo and the next two fights either with Garcia Matthyssee winner or Rios and Pacquaio winner. Should be interesting regardless.

And you make reference to ducking and retiring to duck. Please tell me when SRL fought Aaron Pryor and what was the results. I will give you plenty of time to reserch what a lot of real fight fans already know. A lot of fighters avoided the hawk. He had thunder in both hands, ko power with many different punches and he could box really good. Many top fighters ducked the hawk with very good reason.

As I told an earlier poster, you'd be best advised to refrain from discussing any topic that you clearly know f^ck all about - the only result will be you making a complete and utter arse out of yourself and merely exposing that you're not actually the "real fight fan" you claim to be.
