If you guys go to the nutrition forum or health forum here in Boxing scene, you can try and find a thread where a poster actually shows this book that shows the routines of great fighters like Manny and Roberto Duran. I bought that book but I don't know where i placed it.

The book gives you the everyday routine of a boxer when he is in training mode.

One thing I remember is Roberto Duran drinking a Coca-Cola after every workout for some reason.

I also remember Manny Pacquiao as being the one who ran the most miles (10) at the peak of his training.

Other fighters did push ups, sit ups, rope, heavy bag, speed bag, jogging. etc.

It's a good book as it also indicated what they ate.

Honestly it's varied. Generally I'd come in, stretch, run, come back and a lot depends on the workload of the trainer. So sometimes Come back from your run, do some shadow boxing/keep busy, hit the bag, jump some rope...do some sprints, jumping exercises with the older guys. If the ring was available, a spar if someone has a fight coming up or if i needed it. Helping guys with a fight coming up can be a big part of what you do in a day, especially if in your gym everone helps everyone regardless of gaps in skill. I could do some pad work when i had one on one time.

So some days it would look like

Stretch, run, heavy bag, shadow box, spar (if youve never sparred you have no idea how rough a workout that is)...if no soar then hit the bag, pushups, crunches, pullups, bench press, squat, dips, rope climb, burpees*, etc (all these done in either alternation or as needed).

Look, honestly if youre in a real gym where there's other fighters sometimes you fid yourself doing what a senior fighter is doing or what the guy being trained is doing. There's not always time for just you unless youre actually competing. Boxing can be very solitary and you can be in a gym full of dudes but some are just involved in themself at times an you have to know wtf youre doing for those days. Some trainers are real good about having either them or other coaches have some type of plan but if there isnt you have to take initiative, keep yourself in shape and always learn. Educate yourself on nutrition, ask for advice, if a guy has a nice jab ask him how he follows theough, etc. Be responsible, trainers pay attention to guys who are serious. This is real life we're not all mayweather jr and have all eyes on us.

Wake up at 6 pm eating cereal in your pink speedo.

        Oh, and get high after.

This is what I do for collegiate competition boxing.

Three mile run at 7:00am. Get home and study, eat breakfast, prepare lunch, and do homework until 12pm. Get home from class at 4pm. Get to the gym at 5pm and get in 12 rounds of heavy bag, 10x100m sprints, then weights. Get home at around 8-9pm and study/eat for the rest of the night.

Rinse and repeat for 6/7 days. Do half the workout on Sunday.

This is only for a 3 round fight. I have no idea what professionals do for a 12 rounder.

I'm really curious as to how these guys get in such great shape. What do they eat how do they work out?
This is a more complex question than you think if you aren't trolling, and is better answered by doing a little research of your own or joining a gym than making a thread that will attract 25% honest answers with only 50% being factual, another 25% biased fallacies, and 50% flame/bait posts, only of which 2% will be funny.

most boxing gyms make you do an hour of exercises that are designed to burn you out in 3 minutes. its just hard work.

Nah dude I'm not trolling. I was just thinking about it yesterday and it amazes me how much weight fighters like Vargas and bam bam can lose in such a short period of time! Dudes lose like 30-40lbs in 8 weeks! Some (Chavez Jr) even more!
So I said I'll ask my brothers here on the forum. Spade I've gotten some interesting responses
