You're the one that brought up black and white films. That was your first argument. Am I wrong?

When several of us responded with counterexamples you started changing the argument. Which is fine, but don't get mad just because people shredded your initial point.

Remember, we're talking about the media who will write the history books of boxing. Name me one media person who was on Floyd's side when the whole testing debacle was going on. Pacquiao always had a great image, hence the multiple multinational sponsorships, as opposed to Floyd, who I think has none.

Testing wasn't a big an issue as it is now when the Pac vs Floyd thing was going on and people will give Manny some leeway when it comes to this. Plus, Floyd strategically playing the heel over his career will not help him 50 years from now. Floyd = bad guy and Manny = good guy, media and perception wise. This won't change in 50 years.

I wished Floyd took that fight. There wouldn't have been question marks. Just ask JMM.

        Just to name a few.
Benny Leonard and Willie Pep are some of the best pure boxers around even today.

And LOL @ some pacfan saying Duran was a brawler. Far from it.

I wish Manny would've took the Floyd fight when it mattered in 09.

It will be there. They will include it especially if he takes them now.
Questions will be asked why fight never took place and this will be looked at as main reason, which it was
Like i said their legacies not mine

Is that really what public perception is though? When you subtract the legions of fanboys spamming forums in defense of their demigod hero on both sides, there seems to be quite a negative view on Pac running from testing. Just look at the huge hit their numbers have taken since Pac-JMM 3. I don't know where history will rank Pac and May because their careers are still going on. Pacquiao has done practically nothing to further his career in the last 3 or so years. Fought 3 guys coming off losses, got KTFO, etc. Not to mention history also looks very kindly on defensive-minded fighters especially in comparison to the generally shorter-careered offensive juggernauts who lack defense. It will take 10-15 years to really get a good perspective. Pac had a clear edge at one point, but has lost two of his last three fights anyway you look at it, one by brutal KO. Meanwhile Floyd keeps winning and hasn't fought a guy coming off a loss in 9, soon to be 10 years.

I totally get your point, so why is Arturo Gatti in the HOF? These are the same guys who will write boxing history and will base everything on nostalgia, image, and everything else that was written about Pac vs Floyd. Pac will always win in this department.

Look at how hated Ali was during his career. Look at how the media absolutely crucified BHop during the early 2000s at the peak of Roy Jones Jr's fame. Now the same media is calling BHop a living legend and piling on praise while RJJ has been reduced to a terribly sad sideshow. It seems like people (not you specifically, but in general) want to plant a flag in the ground in 09/10 and declare Manny the best. Unfortunately that is not how things work. Boxing as a whole moves on and is moving right past Pacquiao and will move past Floyd soon as well.

The drop in numbers is quite OBVIOUS.

Bradley = nobody to a casual fan at the time, still is slightly.

4th fight with Marquez is a fight many have seen before, so I doubt they cared to watch it again.

To say Pacquaio has done nothing to further his career is bollocks, he accepted the challenge from an undefeated Bradley and beat him. (inb4 Rome-By-KO etc come to defend)

He then went onto face his most troubled opponent again, which I'm sure other fighters wouldn't have the balls to do.

History WILL say Pacquaio is the good guy and Mayweather was the bad guy, and it's not hard to see why. The public don't take kindly to blatant racism, ****** patriotism (Floyd crying that Pac is taking away U.S money) and his blatant ignorance. (so much other ****** **** also)

Floyds an amazing fighter, as is Manny, but we know who the peoples champion for this era is... it was and most likely always will be Pacquaio, just deal with it.

Sorry if i wasn't clear enough. I meant that the number of rabid Pacquiao fans on boxing forums around the internet has been in steady decline since Pac-JMM III. You can plant your flag in 09/10 and crow victory all you want, but that isn't how it works.
