How is the weather on planet Klit?
weltshmerz cosigned a post from Tommo1 that equated Sam Peter and Joe Frazier. he compromised every bit of credibility he had with that.

Something is either true or it's not. GTFOOH with that "your truth, my truth" BS.

unless he meant Marvis Frazier, though I'd put my money on Frazier Jnr if they went primes at it.

        • Alright JAB, Vitali's resume is not the best of the best to be sure. But I think we can appraise it a bit more fairly...

Peter - Gigantic puncher and good pressure fighter, HW champ, gave Wlad tough battle

Adamek - Multiple-time Championship boxer with great chin. Considered little but exactly same size as Ali!

Arreola - Tanker. Threat to any HW. Hits hard and can take a lot of punches

Donald - A very decent opponent who only ever lost to great champs and the toppest contenders.

Hide - 2 time HW Champ, highly skilled and conditioned opponent.

Sanders - HW champion, beat Wladimir Klitschko, had fast hands, awkward southpaw style, very aggressive and had a great punch. Good record!

Williams - Bum opponent (Tyson was a shell) fair enough!

Kirk Johnson - Very skilled top contender who Vitali completely destroyed!

Gomez - Talented boxer with a solid record, former CW champ.

Solis - Another up and coming "Next big thing" that was viciously stopped early by Vitali.

Doesn't seem so bad when we appraise it in positive light does it.

Compared to some former ATG's I'd say he stacks up pretty ok! A shoe in really!

          • No one on the list is an ATG not even close! Titles that were "attained" are all secondary garbage metal!!! Vitali is a serviceable fighter who has some skills but his awkwardness is his main attribute. He does have coordination that most oversized heavies don't have so thats a big plus!
He fits in nicely between 55 and 80 on the all time list and when you think about all the fighters that have tried to make it thats pretty good!

            as to the extra comment by the last poster;

Adamek is officially listed at 6' 1 1.2" best weight at cruiser around 195-200

Ali officially at 6' 3 1/2" best fighting weight in my opinion was 212-220

compare Vitali's to Ali's then you'll see the difference between an all star opponents list and a fair to decent one!!

no offense to the current or any fighter who has accomplished titles if their era's were weak, nothing can be done about that. I don't need to read a record to decide quality and greatness I have the experience and years of learning methods & techniques to evaluate talents.
Reading records is what fans without actual experience rely on, greenies!

            • What a bigot Ray Corso! Declaring anyone with less experience than you worthless of opinion!

I question your analytical skills at times!

Anyhow I always thought Adamek was 6'3". I am mistaken. Maybe I don't spend all my time "reading the records" as you suggest!

Anyhow to simply declare Vitali somewhat decent because of his awkwardness and between 80-55 is foolish. His total effectiveness is what counts and I would judge that as being among the very best!

Tell me something, which of your esteemed "All Time Greats" could beat Vitali Klitschko? Your choices are few and far between. Ali? Louis? Definitely NOT, they would get pulverised by that piece of construction equipment!

"All Time Great" Let me level with you. It's a bit of a joke. Because MOST ALL of the ATG's are not what the definition suggests. Almost none of them would be considered great today. A more accurate description would be "ONE TIME GREAT!"

I think as far as rating All time Greats go he deserves to be a top 20 at the very least and a top 10 imo considering his achievements no other boxer can boast and a top 3 h2h.

Ali and Louis would slip Vitali's punches and hit him hard. Take a look at Ali v Liston. (Granted height difference) Ali slips punches and comes in a tags Liston hard. I think that Ali would take a few punches but I doubt he would lose more than a round or two (if that) and most likely TKO vitali in rounds 8-12. Louis might do it earlier.

                • Louis nearly got knocked out by an emperor penguin! You know who!

Ali got pasted in every fight he faced a decent opponent and none of them had the range of Vitali or the weight.

Liston is a 1st round KO for Vitali, I don't see any opponent on Vitali's resume as bad as Liston.

Liston still managed to connect with Ali when he was in range.

Ali will beat Vitali every round right? Despite the fact Vitali has never been behind on points and never lost more than 2 rounds in any fight and Ali struggled with terrible opponents by comparison? Not likely!

Ali would be Vitali's bottom 3 lightest opponent.

Ali near the Liston stage got KD by a 185lb Cooper. LENNOX LEWIS couldn't even knock Vitali down!

It's clear. Ali and Louis could not carry Vitali Klitschko's jockstrap between them! You can stick THAT in your signature! LOL

ali beats vitali by a big margin but no way does he knock him out. ali wasnt a big puncher and vitali's chin is cement. dont think louis takes him out either
