    I could see the other belt holders choosing other options.

    But Golovkin is the WBA champion. If the top contender (Murray) won't fight him then move on to the next highest ranked fighter.

    As long as he's fighting his mandatories (the ones who don't pass on the opportunity) then people can't be too critical of his opposition. Just don't resort to fighting junior middleweights again.

      golovking is like the opposite-calzaghe. calzaghe fought mandatories in order to avoid everyone good, everyone good avoided golovking so he has to fight mandatories.

          To be honest, I can't blame Murray if he avoids GGG. He's been robbed in two of his last four fights and probably wants to register a win before getting back in with a legitimate beast. I would love to see the fight, but two back to back defeats would put Murray's career back a long, long way.

          Plus we don't know the financial terms governing this fight. GGG says he would fight in the UK, but is Murray a big enough name to make that fight financially viable yet?
