Yes even with a Mexican like Guerrero he stunk the place out. But I expect with canelo he will break the bank.

before this, someone like pac who had terrible undercards was close to hitting floyds numbers in his prime

the next ppv will do well but garcia vs math and possibly lara vs trout? will be on it, will those 2 fights make an average ppv do good like it has done for him in the past?

does this show floyd is not the super duper draw he claims to be?

what are your thoughts, since all we have to talk about is bs at the moment due to low boxing activity
the notion that you created a thread about floyd that doesn't involve hating is downright preposterous. but lets assume there is a blizzard in the desert.

Last ppv sales were not released. fat dan said 870k gbp/sho said over 1 mil. How did you get 850k?

Manny's best ppv's are cotto and odh-1.25 mil. Floyd's are 2.5 and 1.5. how is that close to hitting floyd's numbers?

canelo, matts, garcia, lara, and trout have never headlined a ppv but you say they will help sales. how did you reach this conclusion? do you have any evidence to support yur opinion?

I think it shows that if floyd does no pre fight promotion he is good enough to sell between 870k and 1. whatever million ppv's with a relatively unknown fighter. That suggests he's as big a draw that he claims but he must do whats necessary to sell the fight to the masses.

      remember, you're not hating.

        No.......look at his other sales.

        I think Mayweather-Guerrero did about 900K probably.

But Mayweather-Ortiz had a crap undercard, and it still sold 1.25M

Mayweather-Mosley didn't have a very good undercard either, and it sold 1.4M

People are delusional if they think the difference between 900K sales and 1.2M+ is the undercards. Most of the PPV buys are casual fans who couldn't careless about the undercards.

You have to remember that this was a Showtime event. It was PPV but it was still up to Showtime to see the fight with there 24/7 style etc....

Alot of people werent even that aware of the fight and they didnt promote it all that much. It wasnt even named until late because they were trying to workout Floyd's contract and then when announced, it probably was promoted less than any PPV Ive seen in awhile.

Lets be real though, Floyd's PPV's werent selling because of Canelo on the Undercard. If thats the case then GBP wouldve been headlining PPV's with Canelo already, e****ally the Trout fight. He also wasnt on every PPV

In a world of illegal streaming i think you now need a stacked card to even break a mil

Even if Fat Dan was right on point with 870k its still going to be the 2nd highest PPV of the year.

Exactly. I commend GBP for putting Garcia-Matthysse on the card, but I think it's a bad business move, atleast in the short run. That fight would've done great as a non-PPV main event.

that's the number showtime want us to believe but in reality it got only 500K ppv buys at the most.

thats why fraud jr is considered as the b-side on his fight with canelo.

It really depends who he is fighting. Ortiz just came off a epic fight with Berto and Berto was undefeated so that hyped up Floyd vs Ortiz and generated buys for PPV. The same with Floyd vs Shane. Shane just came off of KOing Magarito so it was a highly anticipated fight with Floyd and people wanted to see it. The undercard doesn't matter that much UNLESS is a fight that a lot of people want to see. Sales depends on the hype level of competition of the main event.
