I hope Matthysse implements this gameplan against Danny and all future fighters. I've read this is a very frustrating tactic. If he's not getting warned, I hope he continues it.
Danny has to keep his cool, and Matthysse has to keep on doing what it is that he does.

I'm confused, because he has heavy hands, that makes his punches harder to see? Are you sure it's not because he sets his shots up and has you defending for an entirely different punch than what he's going to throw?
You have to finish up your offense and close your defense because Matthysse...once he starts punching he will punch until you are out of his range. You either have to move, step side to side and counter, or clinch.

I don't agree with much of what you said about him.The holding and hitting sounds like Ward. I think Matthysse fight clean and has good boxing skills to go with his power. He is not the best boxer but his skills, timing and accuracy are pretty good in my opinion. He has a wide variety of hard punches with both hands that come from different angles. His stamina is great and he is always the one moving forward and forcing the fight. He is almost a 3 to 1 betting favorite which means the pro odds makers think he is a much better fighter than Garcia. I think they are right.

            So what are his flaws?

I think alot of people overlook the smaller details with Lucas. . . I see someone whose quite well composed and thinks alot upstairs. Yeah when he lets his fists go he looks like a brawler, but I don't think that's the case, his set up, ring movement and defence are better than most people give him credit for and although he is not the fastest most agile boxer his timing is pretty exceptional. Don't forget he's never been knocked down. That's got to count for something.

So far he's shown a good chin. Matthysse sets you up with body shots and if he can't hit you clean, he will go head body head body. Sneaky.

If i was team Garcia when the ref comes to my dressing room i would mention the punches behind the head. I would even mention in the build up to the fight.

Tough and dangerous fight for Garcia but by far the most action packed fight on the card.
