When you watch Matthysse fight

We are here to be objective, and keep it real about Matthysse. We are not penis riding in this thread. We've read enough of that all last week.Matthysse is already deep in his training.
While Garcia is fking around with his hip hop Matthysse is doing the work that allows him to do what he does in the ring.
TAKE NOTE! Dont cry out PEDs after he kills Danny, becuase this is what happens when one guy takes it dead serious and the other screws around.
A few weeks ago in one of the twitter account by his team Matthysse was shown working out with some huge ropes. That's the kind of workout yo do for arm speed and strength. Rather than working out to LOOK strong, big muscles and crap, he's doing the workout requires to BE strong. Big difference there folks.
According to what he said in that last interview of his, his training for 12 rounds. I doubt the fight lasts that long but I'm sure his stamina will be impressive.Comment

I thought Mike Dallas Jr took a dive until I saw the slow mo replay and Lucas just caught him with a quick, perfectly placed counter shot. My point is that even though some of his punches may look very wild, most of them are very accurately placed and do serious damage. He is probably going to rough Danny up after the first 2 rounds. He will have to edge closer the first two rounds but once he touches Garcia, Danny will return fire and then we will get action as long as the fight lasts.Comment

The most notable quality that Matthysse has is the ability to force his opposition into exchanges and/or dragging them into the trenches. He isn't too fast and he can get sloppy, but his aggression is consistent and the opponent has no choice but to move, throw or clinch. Clinching doesn't deter him from throwing or getting rough. If you increase your output, he'll try to throw in between or right after you're done throwing. If you retreat, he'll cut down the ring and goes into Terminator mode. Matts works very well with what he has and fortunately for him, he has one-punch power. A good pressure fighter with one-punch power is a big challenge.Last edited by kiaba360; 07-22-2013, 05:36 PM.Comment

Where does this notion that if a fighter is coming forward and aggressive he is classed as an unskilled brawler come from?
Matty can box he is no defensive wizard and can be hit but he has skills and well placed punches, good timing too.Comment

He's not an unskilled brawler, but he can't box. In fact he really doesn't want to box. Matthysse is a talented, aggressive puncher who has a range finding jab, fast hands, who does not want to box or fight inside. He wants to brawl, and his vision, speed, and power advantage over guys allows him to do this. It's a unique style.Comment

Fast hands? Maybe relative to Garcia, that's about it.He's not an unskilled brawler, but he can't box. In fact he really doesn't want to box. Brawling is an underestimated skill. Tyson, Duran, Frazier, Marquez... Pacquiao is not a brawler. In, out.Comment

Matthysse know's this is his big chance, he also knows a points decision is not going to favour him. The way I see it is, his team will make him well aware (not that he isn't anyway) of Dannys left hook. His plan will be to take away Dannys left and make him uncomfortable, either way Matthysse will go for a stoppage. His relentless attack to the body is highly underrated and very effective, I look forward to a right war in that ring between these two spectacular individuals.Comment
