So, are you saying all of his decline can be chalked up to bad mindset?

I have made no secret as to what I'm implying.

Back when he was wreaking destruction on guys, there was no reference point to compare. He could have just been a very rare fighter and it was all natural. But upon seeing the depth and rate of his decline, and comparing his prime version vs his current version, its hard not to think as I think, if you have the slightest degree of impartiality in you.

It's unlikely he was all natural, same for Floyd and most top fighters. I'm just curious why you think he stopped using, for example for JMM 4

I think your over-thinking it abit... Depth and rate of manny's decline... What are you talking about..... He beatup bradley and got robbed and was beating up JMM and got caught with a great counter... Now if he gets beat down by rios then yes manny has had a huge decline,,
People act like manny has been slipping because he isnt ko'ing guys like he was but remember he was fighting mosely, margs, bradley and jmm.... Those guys dont get stopped, only margs was stopped at the tail end of his career......

Then he looked great vs JMM, minus the 2 punches. Maybe it's his chin, maybe JMM much stronger, maybe perfect punches, hard to tell. But you don't say huge dropoff on the basis of 2 punches
Good post. People saying Manny is shot have no idea what they're talking. People act like this was the first time Manny has been laid out. He looked great vs Bradley and should have won, and Marquez just really is a bad style match.

I bet my life he looks great against Rios, as Rios is no Marquez.

Because he was cycling off to get ready to finally fight Mayweather. In my view, Bradley was a test fight to get him acclimated to being off of the HGH, or whatever it was he was putting in his system. If he had dominated Bradley and officially won, Mayweather was next.

I already said, its a difference of output and overall dynamic force. Its really very palpable if you know what to look for.

I wouldn't say he is shot, but he is a shadow of the Pac that fought Cotto, and that's nearly undisputable.

But then you had the flat fee offer from Floyd and it was clear they hit a dead end. Why not get back on the gear with vengeance for JMM 4?

Shadow of? Maybe Bradley, Marquez and Mosley are tougher than you give them credit for? It's hard to KO a guy that runs away like Mosley was doing.

Even though he was touted as the winner of Bradley by most, he still had to redeem himself from that embarrassment. JMM was picked, it was either him or Bradley 2. If he had beaten JMM, the megafight with Floyd would have still been in the cards. Problem is, JMM was clearly 20 levels physically above what he usually was. He clearly had help to get that physique and strength.

I think its an ego thing as well with Manny.. He didn't want to think to himself "I need this stuff to win".. and Floyd calling him out about it is what started his whole process rolling to that eventual point.

All speculation, but that's my best guess.

Then how did he TKO Cotto?
