He wanted out of there IMO, you could tell with his body language, his interview, his eyes etc his trainer was more upset than Scott himself, why wait till the count of 9 to get up? If he doesn't understand English now then it would have been a different story but he isn't blind neither because the referee was also using sign language by using his fingers.Comment

He didn't quit... He looked at his corner, nodded he was good, watched the count & got up at 9. The ref didn 't give him 10... Complete incompetence by the ref. i was cheering for chisora as i think scott is a pretty boy but he got a gift he didn't earn. If you think that was a quit you should watch it again...Comment

When the ref said NINE Malik slowly got up. You shouldn't put yourself in that situation in the first place. Why would you give the ref a reason to stop the fight???? Malik wanted out of the fight. Malik even looked relieved when the fight was over....He didn't quit... He looked at his corner, nodded he was good, watched the count & got up at 9. The ref didn 't give him 10... Why does someone that isn't hurt need to squeeze every last second out of a 10-count?
Why even give the referee that chance?
Had he got up at 6 or 7, referee would've asked Scott if he was OK, rub the gloves and then continue the action. That whole process takes several seconds, which could've been used by Scott as more time to recuperate.
He wasn't up at 9, he got up after the referee said 9 and was in the motion of waving it off.Comment
