You can clearly see he starts getting up at 9, but the moment the ref says 9, his hands go into the wave as he's standing up. If he said 10, Malik would have been off the canvas

The reality is that the counts are always longer then 10, or I should say the process is longer then 10. The fighters stands before ten the ref finishes the count. He then asks for a response the fighter raises his gloves the ref cleans them off while he determines if the fight can continue. So, in my humble opinion the stoppage was horse5hit. However, Scott didn't even look as if he cared.

For you people saying he got up at 9 he didn't he waited til the ref counted 9 to get up. Either he didn't want to fight, threw the fight or he is the dumbest professional boxer there is to get his first loss from not getting up at the count of 8 like all other fighters who need to catch their breath do. You can't blame the ref on this one. He actually made the right call.
