    Las Vegas .. Eight-Time, Five-Division World Champion and boxing's biggest star Floyd "Money" Mayweather was crowned the 2013 ESPY Award winner for the Best Fighter, giving him the honor for the second consecutive year and for the fifth time in the last seven years.

    The award, voted on by fans throughout the country, recognizes Mayweather for his ring prowess and accomplishments. Currently training for his second fight of the year when he takes on Unified Super Welterweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez on September 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. live on SHOWTIME PPV®, Mayweather is grateful for the award honor and appreciative of the support boxing and sports fans continue to bestow upon his career.

          you would think from all the comments regarding Canelo getting the most love at the press conferences that FMJ wouldnt win any awards voted by the fans. Go figure...

              well, even those who hate him have to grudgingly concede that he's a brilliant boxer. i've never heard anyone dispute his ability, bar two or three extreme pacquiao fans here on nsb who were probably trolling anyway.

                      Floyd's still the most popular boxer. Americans are lazy. We are not coming to a press conference (I went though) to announce a fight but we will quickly complete a poll on our Ipads or laptops to vote for our favorite fighter. Mexican boxing fans are far more dedicated. Also, people are going to vote for the most recognizable name on a list too.
