I don't think Canelo would be able to maul Floyd. Duran suggestion is not a wrong one but like most great fighters he overlooks the fact that most fighters don't have the tools to pull off what he could. You have to be relentless, you have to be able to stick to your opponent like glue, you have to be able to cut the distance with quickness. Canelo has none of those things. His output is too low and he is too heavy on his feet. He'd have to manhandle and pin Floyd against the ropes or corner.
