I think the movie "Rocky" causes fighters like Rigo issues!

Steve dominated Adamek and first thing Duva said amidst everyone screaming robbery was basically " yea yea Steve will be back, but GIVE IT UP to Adamek YAAAAAAY!!!" Manny, Nonito,Nelo, Broner ALL got where they are by being set up to knockout overly aggressive, undersized BUMS!!!! Bottom line is IF they WANTED, they could push Rigo as some super duper boxer, IF THEY WANTED...

no they could not. if they could make more money with rigo they would. what you wrote is complete BS. complete BS. he's 122 lbs, cuban, in his 30's, speaks no english, has the personality of a sack of flour, and has a very boring style to the casual fan.

add in how good he is, and how bad he'll make you look, and he's the perfect storm of a fighter who will not get fights

So he's already in the gym waiting.

where are you going to go?
hbo and showtime are the only people in the states who can afford to pay a 122 lber six (maybe even seven,) figures consistently.

nbc sports? there's no way the'll take the fight, unless they can get it for cheap.

      espn?
have fun taking your split of a ten grand main event. paying sparring that will actually get rigo in shape costs more than 10 grand.

Who said he has to make 6 figures? Who knows maybe after November TR lets Rigo out of his contract. Then GB offers him a couple hundred grand to fight Mares or Santa Cruz.

People have to look at it for what it is, excitement attracts people, period. Case in point, A month ago if you asked a normal sports fan who Gennady Golovkin was, you'd get a

He KO's Macklin with a solid body shot, makes Sportscenter highlights, gets on CNN, and some other sports shows I came across, and the following day I get asked by a friend who's a casual and asks, "Yoo who's that Russian guy who fought Saturday??".

Also, think about the majority of people who bought De La Hoya vs Mayweather. People really believe they bought that fight to see a tactical fight? Man, people wanted Oscar to KTFO of Floyd, hence when it got the rounds 6 and 7 (at least based on my experience) people forgot about the fight and just kept partying. Boxing as a whole isn't for everybody, but if it were JUST Boxing fans who tuned and or bought PPVs, the sport would be in serious jeopardy.

he made 750 for donaire and won. he's now a top 5 p4p fighter. generally you don't take a massive paycut and get booted from your network after that. he is 31 [at least.] this is when he should be getting paid.

honestly, if he's not making good money, he'll probably elect not to fight at all. rigondeaux may retire.

And before that he was making 25,000 per fight. If he holds out for 6 figure paydays then he has nobody to blame but himself. He's 31 and cant speak english. What else is gonna do go work at Wal-Mart?

I'm not all familiar with his division, but do you think Rigo has a chance of fairing better over here in Europe? Not sure how many fighters he could drag over here, but i'm sure his titles alone can hype up a fight somehow.

Stop crying about this Rigondeux... HBO didn't see him as a worthy investment... deal with it. His weight class isn't that popular anyway.

europe i tend to doubt. asia may be different, but they don't have a very consistent market. christ john at 126 might be a possibility.
