Doesn't change the fact that most viewed Mosley as close to shot coming into their fight, while Cotto was prime and the biggest fight he'd ever been BY FAR at that point. That's not delusion, that's reality.

"Most viewed" doesn't equal what the reality is. Mosley's hand speed, punching power, defence and chin are all greater than Cotto's. His style is more problematic. He's a far more resilient and tougher fighter than Cotto.

Margarito knew well of Cotto's vulnerabilities. It just shows the delusion/arrogance of Cotto fans to think he'd have to use plaster against him just because he apparently tried to use it against Mosley.

To answer TS, Cotto's career would've been much different, he would've got the De La Hoya fight in December that Pacquiao got, would've won, and COTTO, not Pacquiao, would've been boxing's star.

In the rematch they had to stop the fight cuz Margarito was beating up Cotto in the final rounds . Look at Cottos face after the fight was stopped he ate a lot of leather . Cotto will always be a cheater for low blowing Judah and body slamming other fighters in the process. He is a sore loser and has always been overrated .

Nobody going into that fight though Mosley had a real chance and were fearing for his life, I remember more than one person saying they were afraid that could happen. Mosley did not show the same ability against Mayorga that he did in the fight previous to Margarito and right after Cotto.

I feel pretty confident in saying that Margarito took Mosley's age and recent performance into consideration as well before chosing him in his first fight after his biggest victory. His style is more problematic for Margarito than Cotto was/is, but I highly doubt Margarito would have picked him if he had annihilated Mayorga in 3 rounds and looked great doing it.

The Cotto fight was bigger than the Mosley fight and Margarito's chance at the big time. He wasn't gonna be denied again, by any means necessary.

If that's true, why on earth was he parading around the ring, giving interviews on national TV while still wearing them? Does that make sense to you?

That was the plan.... Cotto would have beaten Oscar and and gotten that limelight. Margarito stole a lot from Cotto that night

No it doesn't make sense to me, but does that mean it's not possible? He couldn't run out of the ring right when the decision was announced on a night when he was the center of the boxing world. It would've looked more su****ious if he did that. It's not smart, but it was his only option.

Exactly. Great post. But such logic is void on NSB, the only truths here are the ones of the most persistent fan base, not reality.

I know. That guy is generally a good poster, but that post he dropped was just basura.
