Now that I think about it, I think Abner was on the tail end of his contract because Arum was trying hard to lure him away last year and some problem came from it

Mares should definitely leave for Top Rank. Hes never gotten more than 500k with GBP while Donaire is in the million dollar bracket.

Mares could be a bigger star than Donaire. He has a fan base and exciting style.

he should do it. he can't get rigo, donaire or garcia without. russell jr. is actually a free agent himself. he's never signed with a promoter. all gb really has for mares is santa cruz.
