it doesn't matter what jones and company say, what matters is the audience watching the fight, and most don't like that style,so maybe you are in the 10% but that's not enough, they want people watching the fights, exciting ones, you can be a great fighter without being boring, you wont get the casual fans to like boxing with guys like him,i just don't invite people to my hose to watch guys like him or titere Vazquez who himself said he has trouble landing fights on tv,it's not just rigo,it's guys with his style,i can't remember what card it was but when rigo fought marroquin nobody watched,he all were getting the food ready and drinking and talking about other things, when the main event was on we all paid attention, thats just the way it isMore like 2% of people like you, that don't know boxing feel the same... Donaire got SCHOOLED that night, and I think HBO had huge plans to make Donaire the next Pacquiao/cash cow... and now that some Cuban with a 12-0 record that nobody has heard of, (because he doesn't get the same TV exposure as all these other boxers) schooled their fighter.. now they don't want him?? or maybe it's Arum who thinks he's boring... cuz if I remember correctly Jim, Max, Roy Jones Jr. and all the other commentators at hbo thought Rigo put on a masterpiece that night... and anybody that knows boxing will agree.... You don't always have to have a slug fest and take punishment the whole fight, to fight a awesome fight.Comment

I don't think anyone is expecting him to headline anything, but for your own promoter to be bad mouthing you in public and making negative comments about you is wrong, and if what his manager is saying here is right then shame on HBO. You can blackball someone for winning, they know what Rigo was about before the fight but I still don't believe HBO said anything close to what Arum is saying anyways.Comment

I think Floyd is a little more proactive than Rigo, which makes him a little more exciting to watch. But you're right; both men have similar styles. If you like one, it's tough not to like the other. Why Guillermo is considered a less appealing fighter has a lot more to do with communication than with approach to the game.Comment

wow. harsh generalization... guerrero = donaire??? c'mon son. if thats the case, then why are we making a big deal about rigo beating him? horrible comparison.
donaire was a technically sound boxer with "lights out" power in both hands. he is a NATURAL counter-puncher. so when you put him in the ring with a PURE defensive fighter, 'nito had to fight out of character... and CLEARLY donaire couldnt adjust. i give props to rigo, donaire was legit.Comment

Agreed 100%. Bob was sh**ing on Rigo mere hours after he had beat Donaire. I would say that is the opposite of promoting.I don't think anyone is expecting him to headline anything, but for your own promoter to be bad mouthing you in public and making negative comments about you is wrong, and if what his manager is saying here is right then shame on HBO. And by the way, has everyone forgotten the Teon Kennedy fight?? He dropped him 15 times. Rigo is a guy 12-0 with 8 KO's and 6 Championship fights. He KO'd Rico Ramos for his first belt. Sure he has had some stinkers, but so what? He doesnt fight like that 100% of the time. And I dont think the Donaire fight was boring like everyone makes it out to be.
Put him in there with WV2, or Jorge Arce. Agbeko, Darchinyan. Keep him away from guys like Moreno, and you will have an entertaining fight. Can my man get a freaking undercard spot?!??Comment

It's disgraceful for a promoter to say such things about his fighter. Schaefer did the same thing with Lara. Meanwhile, Landy rose from the canvass twice to stop Angulo. The nerve of these guys....I don't think anyone is expecting him to headline anything, but for your own promoter to be bad mouthing you in public and making negative comments about you is wrong, and if what his manager is saying here is right then shame on HBO.
